  1. I think the last one I saw was a bit less and of course like anything they do vary and that is how long they have taken, what the future brings well....
  2. Having entered on an Immigrant Visa she can work or not, study or not, any of those options are fine.
  3. If she comes into the US, legally, and then decides to change her mind, marry and adjust that is fine. What is not fine if she intended to immigrate as a tourist. That can get her into trouble.
  4. I think the current VJ record is 5? Maybe time to move to marriage rather than fiancee? https://www.fickeymartinezlaw.com/immigration/k-1-fiance-visa/i-129f-multiple-filer-waiver
  5. A Macy’s security guard was killed and another injured in a stabbing by an alleged shoplifted at the department store in Philadelphia. Police said that the attack took place at 10.40am EST on Monday when a man allegedly tried to steal hats from the Center City store. Officials said that the security guard confronted the man, “backs off, gets the merchandise back, allows the male to go on.” But the suspect returned 15 minutes later and is accused of attacking the two security guards with a knife, say police, reported news station WPVI. Both victims were taken to hospital by police, where one of them was pronounced dead at 11.19am EST. https://www.the-independent.com/news/world/americas/crime/macys-stabbing-philadelphia-security-guard-b2458298.html
  6. North Korea would be an excellent choice.
  7. During COVID I forget how it arose but they were talking about jobs in the national interest, seemed mine qualified and then I saw that about 70% of jobs were classified as being in the national interest. Depends what you mean by national interest.
  8. They will be F1 unless they marry. One of those odd cases where the time difference is unlikely to be that much if they do. Children not relevant.
  9. Obviously the I 130 needs to be filed asap When is your Birthday?
  10. K does not have an I 130, well in the vast majority of cases.
  11. Not how it works, you need to wait for the PD to be current before you can adjust.
  12. It will take a lot longer than that, you will age out into the F2b category.
  13. EB2 there is a wait for the PD to be current, EB1 is current for ROW but I do not see many of those. https://www.wegreened.com/ just an example of a Law firm that does these en masse and will give you a free assessment.
  14. Amusingly they cannot agree on where to hold the next one, apparently they need somewhere that can host 70,000 activists. Plus allow them to do their protesting. I have a feeling that it will become something like the Commonwealth Games, costs a fortune to host and nobody will want to do it. From a practical perspective I do not see how it can be hosted by a western country without it becoming a show,
  15. There are Lawyers who will provide a money back guarantee for EB2 NIW. I used to be fairly pessimistic but having seen many cases get approved which I assumed had no chance I have changed my mind. There was a lady who was a regular on Hacking, an Accountant, she DIYd and was approved. Last I heard she was in Texas but having issues finding employment. EB2 NIW has gone from very rare to fairly common. I know there was a Court case a few years back and I assume there has been a cultural change in interpretation.
  16. Just delay matters until it is supplied.
  17. You can see how long others have been waiting, I thought it was a lot longer than 3 months.
  18. I recognise that dog! The way it goes is medical, report sent to Consulate, interview, visa refused and waiver offered, file waiver with fee, wait for approval, visa issued. Most people need a Lawyer to prepare a waiver so what you can do is get all that sorted and prepared so you are ready to go once the visa is refused.
  19. Assuming she is single and has no children then both you and your Mother should petition her.
  20. https://www.britishcornershop.co.uk/?i=336546 It is that time of year and I have been here long enough to let most things go, obviously not HP sauce and the odd jar of Branston, but somehow I am more inclined to stock up now, Christmas Pudding, Mince Pies etc, and some decent chocolate of course. Now the prices make me wince, probably because I am remembering prices from years ago. So the link is above to the one I use, is there anything other people feel the need to special order?
  21. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/nov/22/finland-to-close-all-but-one-russia-crossing-point-to-stop-asylum-seekers Finland has said it will close all but one crossing point on its border with Russia in an effort to halt a flow of asylum seekers to the Nordic nation, as Estonia accused Moscow of mounting “a hybrid attack operation” on Europe’s eastern border. The announcement on Wednesday came after weeks of tension on the 830-mile (1,330km) border across which Helsinki accuses Moscow of guiding refugees and migrants in an apparent act of revenge for the Nordic nation’s cooperation with the US. From midnight on Friday, said the Finnish prime minister, Petteri Orpo, the only open border crossing of Finland’s eight stations would be its northernmost at Raja-Jooseppi.
