  1. Another one of those updates that could be posted in half a dozen threads. The real threat to Democracy. The local history society has been showing a series of lectures that sadly are not available on YT, the last one covered the events in Eastern Europe during WW2, the industrialisation of terror. Now I know enough to know if the Lecturer knows his stuff, he did. I really like his presentation, a retired History lecturer. Cannot remember the Uni involved. Anyway there was a QandA on the presentation and a discussion at the showing. So someone asked the obvious question, could it happen here, and basically he was of the opinion to the same extent no. This must have been filmed about 9 months ago, I picked up some references and there was a mumbled local discussion as the reference s to what was happening on US Campuses was obvious and those was being held in a very progressive area. So here is an article about ABC and the debate and basically the State Controlled Media. That worries me more than anything. https://thehill.com/opinion/campaign/4879842-false-claims-harris-trump-debate/ “You are entitled to your opinion. But you are not entitled to your own facts.” That famous line from Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan (D-N.Y.) remains a virtual mantra for politicians and pundits. Yet, judging from the presidential debate between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, we have officially entered the post-truth political era. ABC News has been widely criticized for the bias of the two moderators Linsey Davis and David Muir. Even liberal outlets acknowledged that the two journalists seemed inclined to “fact check” only Trump. In the meantime, they allowed clearly false statements from Harris go unchallenged. Three of the unchecked claims are being widely disseminated by supporters, including some in the media. Here are three legal “facts” that are being repeated despite being clearly untrue.
  2. Why? There would have to be hisotu why she is not eligible for the VWP. I have seen people waiting for the I 407 to be processed but maybe this is the first one that has been processed. I assume those who have received a notice had no reason to post.
  3. Part 6, Question 15 You must provide the current annual household income for yourself and any household members whose income will be considered to support the principal immigrant and any family members listed in Part 3. In order for the household member’s income to be considered in support of the immigrants, the household member also needs to complete Form I-864A, Contract Between Sponsor and Household Member.
  4. First the child has to be adopted, nothing happens without that happening.
  5. Usually October has quite a bit of movement.
  6. It was the same then, the 245i throws me.
  7. My experience with the 2 party system has been that one inevitably overstays their welcome and no matter how bad the other one gets in by default. Rinse and repeat. I do not think I ever voted for the lead 2 parties? I only remember one person I voted for getting elected . I always voted for the least obnoxious.
  8. Your Sister is not going to know the details but your Mother should at least know the dates give or take? Do they have their Passports from then? FOIA has been mentioned, I 94 not sure what else to say.
  9. That makes more sense my comments were based on the original post. Obviously they need to track down exactly what happened and when, for example on the face of it if your Sister was 12 when they left and she was born presumably in India and they were here 14 years that does not quite add up. I assume you were born in the US when they were here. There is no point petitioning your sister if she does not want to immigrate and it seems she was here for quite some time out of status, Mother is looking to move Sister here, well I agree with appleblossom. Your Mother, yes she has served her 10 year bar for an overstay so the next question is if anything else is in her past that will require a waiver as you cannot file one. https://www.cbp.gov/travel/international-visitors/i-94
  10. I have not been to Thailand but a few years ago came across a channel on YT so I think the issue will be how the Consulate look at that description. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMBaoBn9Q1k I think you need to be prepared to address the inevitable assumptions.
  11. If they were here for 2 years and on a H4 they would not have overstayed. Sounds more like a B. 245i makes no sense with those dates anyway. The Visa would be in her passport You can look up the I 94 online She will have to disclose her prior visit to the US anyway as part of the application process. I agree sponsoring her makes more sense.
  12. Well a waiver if available would only be an issue once he has been interviewed for an Immigrant Visa which would take 18 to 24 months.
  13. Well F2b has been quicker than F1, my guess would be c 2035.
