  1. I volunteered to make the Green Bean Casserole since my sis n law will be hosting the Thanksgiving dinner. I will be bringing dessert too - Strawberry and Lemon Tiramisu. At home, will cook some pasta with turkey sausage, fennel, cubanelle peppers, cheese tomatoes and basil since I need to stay away from the turkey. I had a big heart burn 3 yrs ago coz I ate the turkey leg.

Pinakbet! I miss that. :( Happy Eating tomorrow everyone!

  2. Can I just remind everyone that it is against Visa Journey TOS to encourage or suggest any illegal activities.

    Tay

    Visa Journey Moderation Team

i am not encouraging them to do it.. they are asking me why we did that and i am jsut answering the Qs and its up to them if they will do it or not... ;)

its very clear said here that i didnt continue it....:innocent:

    Praise God!!!!

Why even suggest it if you know it is illegal? You need to be careful with your replies, you have been giving wrong advices and please if you haven't experienced it yet then don't answer like interview and visa delivery. People are getting confused with your posts and we need help not pretenses. Thank you.

  3. before in public schools confirmation is not offer but now a days they are offering it too in grade schools... before they gradeauted the elementary... but in private schools it is automatic that kids will be confirm before they graduate from the elementary... yes if u will marry ur wife again in a catholic church she must get the confirmation first its the church rule hehehehe.... :star:

Do you mean private Catholic schools because not all private schools are Catholic. I know few public schools offer Catholic catechism classes in the Philippines, they do not really teach Religion or push for it, assuming not everyone is Catholic.

To Ski4ever, ask your wife if she's Catholic coz you didn't mention if she is. If she cannot remember, they usually have a record at her diocese and can request for a copy which I did before coming here. If she's not Catholic and you guys want to get married in a Catholic church- there are two things, she can convert to be a Catholic and attend classes or if she don't want be converted you ask for a dispensation from the bishop in your area. :) I hope that helps.

  10. Hope all is well with your families back home. As for my Mom who stays in Rizal, they are all right her house is higher than the rest but she said it's very muddy, phone lines are back today and their number one problem is water from Maynilad (I guess the water lines were badly hit or they have to shut it down coz the province is still under flood waters) but she has a lot of drinking water.

I'm praying for our nation and for all those people who have died and lost their homes and loved ones. May we find meaning and peace in all of these. God bless us all and always trust in HIM.

  12. My wife has her Masters in Education, but she has to take the praxis tests... 4 tests all total she needs. It has been 15 years since she took her tests in the Philippines, and she is afraid she wont pass the tests here, even with a study guide, because of all the theories and so forth involved in the tests. It has been a very long time since her school days... She feels discouraged, because she feels like she has to start all over in learning again.

Anyone here who is a teacher, who has gotten certified for teaching here after years since completing education degree in the Philippines? Would like to hear your experiences.

I have taught in Maryland for 4 yrs ago and when we were hired the school district told us to take Praxis I and Praxis II. Then after passing Praxis I, we were told that we don't have to take it coz we have the Phil license and after a month I took Praxis II for Special Education. I would suggest to take both coz Praxis I is just Reading, Writing and Mathematics and Praxis II would be just the content area. There are review guides being sold by the ETS.

Did she have her TORs evaluated here in the US? I would suggest that she do this first since the HR or accreditation office of the school district will ask for the equivalency of her transcripts from the Philippines.

    Good luck! :)

Feelling ko deprived ako sa rice when we eat out kaya pagdating sa house- rice and curry agad. Hay, kayo ano update?

Sana walang mag react sa pics ko saFB kasi super upload si rahmen lately and baka sabihin eh every activity namin eh naka post pero in fairness pinaalis nya yun plantsadora pics ko :( baka raw akalain ginagawa akong maid dito. hee hee ok lang kasi thats my task. Enjoy your day. :)

Ate Boots, miss you rin. I know naman happy ka to be with hubby and kids.

I hope you are doing well kahit di tayo chat. You are always in my prayers. :)

D, bakit ba lagi ka naka mobile? Are you with your in laws na? I hope to talk to you soon.

    May, gising ka na ba?

Shang, ikaw din gising ka na ba?

Julie, kamusta na ba? Tama si Pink, make yourself busy kasi maiinip ka talaga pero once nadyan na yan you will not have enough time to see friends and family. Praying for you, too.

Speaking of sleep, pareho kami adjust kasi pareho kami hindi sanay matulog ng me katabi. Hahaha. It is soooo funny kasi before naman ok at sa Phils ok din pero siguro kasi kama nya sanay sya mag isa ako rin sanay sa kama ko hinahanap hanap ko yun pillow ko since birth.

Tomorrow, I will get to see again my mom-in-law(to be) and my 2 sis-in-law. Bonding yata kaming apat. Noodles will also be there pero he will set up the place for this weekend kasi me welcome party at Labor Day party kami.

Hi Julie dear, sige isang malaking Good luck at HUG.

Waaaaahhhh.

I wasnt able to greet you.

Teka sino nga ba me big basement para maka pag work out tayong lahat? hee hee. D or si Shang?

  18. Hi Odessa(?),

I know you can inform that you are having your interview the next day and can actually give your passport to you. You dont want to take any chance in going to the interview without your passport at the USEM. I know someone who was in the same situation and she just told the people at SLEC that she will be having her interview the next day and they let her have the passport. The appointment letter will be a proof of the date of your interview.

But yeah, you should give an allowance like if they see a scar in your lung or unexpected menstruation (knock on wood) if you think you are healthy then you are good to go. Good luck!

  19. Hi I'm RH's fiancee, I'm gonna be flyin to Texas soon if i pass the interview this 2nd of September (this is giving me weird feelings in my guts these days..hehe).. If i do pass, I plan on bringing my Transcripts with me, and I'm wondering if there are stuffs i need to do with it (TOR).. like maybe have it stamped by somebody to be credible. I really don't have any idea.. I dont want to bring my TOR to America then later find out its useless, because i didn't have this done and that.. Any advice or information would be appreciated. Thanks :)

well, yes u bring ur tor... but i think its more good if u will have a red ribbon..... i did it already 3yrs. ago.. so glad don't have problems with my school docs.

DId you get a chance to work in the US and have your credentials evaluated? I have worked in the US as a teacher for 4 years and they told us it is not necessary to have it with red ribbons. It is up to you but this is based on my own experience and that's what they told me in the US embassy too. Im just trying to help but it seems a lot of people here would still want to have that red ribbon. Maybe when you get to the US you would agree that it is NOT necessary.

  20. excuse me, but the purpose of the "red ribbon " is for authenticity as the word implies ; it means that your credentials are authentic , it did not come from C.M. Recto , as you can get it easily for a fee , if you know what I mean?

it would mean more work to be done but then , it is better to be sure .

Nope, that wont really help. As I have said just bring your original transcripts and the accredited agency will evaluate it for you, sometimes they will send a form to your university and have it filled out and the university will send it back to the agency. As I have told you, I have been through this so I can tell you the red ribbons wont help you at all. even at the USEM when I have my BC authenticated with that red ribbon, they said it is NOT necessary.

  21. I brought ALL my credentials too just in case my employers would like to see it.

And it will be less hassle for my family in PI to send my credentials to me so that's why I brought it with me.

But I think it's not really necessary. After all, they would still send you to an agency to have your credentials evaluated to see if it matches the US curriculum.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. :D

What's not necessary? My transcripts?? or having it internationalized??.. What does 'having it internationalized' mean anyway..hehe.. I'm sorry, I'm a lil confused. :help:

Bring your transcripts but that's all (several copies). The employer will have your transcripts evaluated by an agency here in the US for equivalency. Dont have it internationalized or have that red ribbon from Dep Ed, Malacanang or what have you. Ive worked in the US for 4 years and those red ribbons wont help you.
