  1. Hi Everyone!

We are going through the CR1 visa process and was wondering if anyone had any delays in receiving their visas after the interview if your spouse had a B1/B2 visa before and had entered the US numerous times? Would the US Embassy have to do additional investigation for all the times your spouse entered the US using the B1/B2 visa over the last 10 years? My spouse used the B1/B2 visa for business purposes only. I am hoping that they've already done all the necessary investigation so that we can get the CR1 visa in just a matter of weeks and not have a delay of a few months.

    Thanks!

  2. Great! Thanks so much! BTW, did you have to file any other paperwork after the CR1 visa was approved like an adjustment of status? I'm only aware of having to file the form 2 years later to remove the conditional status on the visa so that your spouse is truly a permanent resident. That's it, right?

Usually takes anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks. It comes through normal mail, so no one has to be present to receive it. And beneficiary can travel US freely while waiting for the card.

How do you obtain your green card? Is it by filing the I485 after your POE after your CR1 visa has been approved?

my wife entered on a CR1 and shortly thereafter her green card arrived without filing any additional forms...took about a month to arrive in the mail box...good luck...on a second note, we selected on the DS-230 that the SS card be issued, but after waiting 6 weeks after her point of entry, we ended up having to go apply for her SS card....

  3. Will the NVC mail back the I864 (AOS), DS230, and the documents sent to them in time for the interview? We have made copies of all the documents we sent to the NVC, but their website states that the following documents need to be available by the time of the interview. Also, I've been reading in other people's posts that the AOS is also needed at the time of the interview. Will we get those documents back? They seem to want to see the original copy.

    Please help!
