  1. You can get a prepaid card and build your credit until your bank issues you an unsecured card. Or, you can get a joint card with your hubby. My Pinay wife and I opened a joint bank account at Wells Fargo bank and she received an unsecured visa card.

Building up good credit is not overrated, especially if you ever buy a home or a car and need to borrow money to so. Also, many landlords check their potential tenant's credit rating.

  2. In filling out the I-134 form, can anyone please tell me if I can include the car that i am still paying as asset?

It's not necessary. Also, you don't need to fill out the I-134 yet because it is not to be sent to the USCIS. You will send that to your fiancee for her interview.

  3. Tahoma it's time to drop this conversation. You've made your point. You say tomato we say to-ma-to.

If you're not interested in this conversation any longer, instead of leaving snide comments, you can simply stop posting.

  4. Some use there time to help ... other enjoy rocking the boat it would appear.

How is it helping to give out the wrong name for a document? The PSA doesn't issue CEMARs, they issue the Advisory on Marriages.

    :wow: Don't get me started.

    On accuracy?
  5. Yeah well the forum has been calling it a CEMAR for literally years now. So why now are you getting into a tissy over it?

Yes, the term "CEMAR" has been used on this forum for years. Before this forum, it was used on the Asawa forum. However, "Advisory on Marriages" has also been used for years, and is the accurate description for the document.

Once again, when you send a newbie to the PSA for a "CEMAR," and they don't receive a document called a "CEMAR," they are going to be wondering what's going on. So, what is your objection to using the actual name of the document?

  6. Hey Jimbo...You have your MNL case number, so you are good to go. Now you need to pay the visa application fee, schedule an interview, and complete the medical. The details are all on the U.S. Embassy Manila web site. Just go to their home page and click on Visas/Immigrant Visas/Fianc(e) Visa/The Interview/K-1/K-2 Applicant Interview Preparation Instructions.

  7. By the way, where does it say "CEMAR" on the form?

I can answer that! It doesn't say "CEMAR" anywhere on the form.

So, if someone who is not familiar with the process is advised to apply for a CENOMAR, and told they will receive a CEMAR, they will be back here scratching their head and wondering why their document doesn't say anything on it about being a CEMAR.
