    Conditional Residence and Removing Conditions

If you have been married less than 2 years when your spouse is granted permanent resident status, your spouse will receive permanent resident status on a conditional basis.

Don't confuse the visa approval date with the date LPR status is granted. LPR status is acquired on entering the USA, not on the date the visa is issued.. so the 2 year time frame is assessed at POE nit on interview date.

Thanks for the correction, Dee Elle.

  3. If no one is at home, they won't deliver the packet.  If someone is at home, they will deliver the packet, but they may ask for a permission letter signed by the beneficiary.

When they texted Chinook that her fiancee visa was about to be delivered, she called the local office and told them to hold onto it, and then she went there and picked it up.

  4. Was your I-129F petition approved by the USCIS on March 6?

If so, your fiancee should schedule an embassy interview and complete the medical at St. Lukes.

In order to show the embassy that you are making more money this year, your fiancee should bring several of your most recent paycheck stubs to her interview, along with your tax return/tax transcript, W-2, and a letter from your employer.

We are part of the January Filers and my fiance just recieved the receipt a week after it was sent. We are expecting it would take two months for the second update but til now haven't seen. We both are worried on the documents if something might have gone wrong, if it is rejected or not or if our documents is reviewed or what's not. Adding, it's already a torture having not to see each other for year and counting. Just worries and so anxious. :( Anybody can have similar endeavor?

You are still within the normal processing time, so there is nothing to worry about. Best wishes to you for a smooth and speedy visa journey!

  6. We have never changed pesos to dollars.  When we have leftover pesos, we simply bring them home and use them during our next vacation in 'Pinas.  We just returned to the U.S. from 'Pinas and we have about Php1600 leftover for the next trip.

That being said, you could try another bank or, as mentioned above, try Forex.

Are you carrying $4000 around with you?  Yikes!

  7. Hi Che...

I assume you are interviewing at the U.S. Embassy Manila.  In that case, you need to go to the U.S. Embassy Manila website.  From there you can get the official list of what you will need for your K-1 interview.  From the U.S. Embassy home page, here is the path to follow:

    Visas

    Immigrant Visas

    Fiance(e) visas

    The Interview

    K1/K2 Applicant Interview Preparation Instructions

Best wishes on your visa journey...!
