  1. Thanks, YecaCruz, I never hire lawyers. I did all immigration papers for me, my kids, my mother, my husband so I am confident I can do it.
  2. I have read that to apply to asylum they have to be here, am I wrong?
  3. Potentially I want them to claim refugee status but first they will be on humanitarian parole. I google our local multicultural support center with free lawyers and will call tomorrow. We have huge population of Guatemala nationals in our area.
  4. I am in MD and I never said that schools check their status but the kids tell me stories so I know they are from refugee status.
  5. I understand that this is more so I hope someone will share their experience. I teach hundreds of students from Guatemala every year and they keep coming and staying and getting health benefits.
  6. My mom came visiting and stayed and I applied for immigrant visa and she got her green card in months so my plan for his parents was the same.
  7. student visa is not practical so I am collecting info about asylum now, the brother is 18 so he can't attend the school I think but I ask in my high school just in case
  8. I Googled asylum and it sounds likely to be approved under asylum since their government is dictatorship and make them work cutting rain forest to plant palm trees.
  9. I know that some parole immigrants work with lawyers to stay legally but I really don't know how. The family is his parents which I know can stay after he is a citizen and a brother who may receive student visa later. I will google about renewal of parole but can they fly back to their country?
  10. Parole was approved for my husband's family. I understand it is for 2 years. How can they stay legally after? The family is from Nicaragua. I am the sponsor.
  11. Anyone is successful inviting 2 people by I134A? I can't submit the second application somehow.
  12. no Nicaragua, I couldn't find correct forum
  13. Sorry, I am not sure if I posted in a correct area. I filled this form for one of my relatives 6 weeks ago and no answer so far. Today I tried to submit this form for another relative. The application went through, no alerts but it is saved as a draft. The same message keeps appearing. Sorry, something went wrong. I tried to resubmit may be 10 times but it sits in a draft area.
