  1. After much delay....waiting on documents, waiting for the pics from the last vacation to come in the mail. My hubby went to the post office and we sent ROC application today. Ready for round three in the fight with immigration!!!!!

Keep fightin' the good fight!! :)

  2. Finally spoke to someone who has worked at NVC for a while now and she recongnized my concerns about filling out the form. She mentioned to me that it is better this way and even though the form mentions the Child Citizenship act, it does not follow the act to a T. It is there for a reference and she also told me it is better 'cause once my kids step onto US soil they become automatic US Citizens, nothing more to do and no green card for them.

Do my kids qualify under the CCA of 2000 - No

Did I start the whole process correctly by filing out I130s - Yes

Did I get a valid RFE - No real answer, just a better situation

I asked her to mention this to the managers and see if the wording could/should be changed

Thanks for your help and words!

Package received at NVC 7/10/2009, now its just another waiting game.

My wife's completed case and will not be forwarded to the embassy until the kids cases are complete

    Thanks again

    What a headache. So sorry.

  3. Dang, but I owe to 8 different doctors, specialists, radiologists, pathologists... even if I set up $50 per month that's still $400 a month!

Don't get me wrong, I am not a bad person, I intend to pay all those people for their work, it's just that this year is such a bad timing ...

It makes me so mad that close to 4K of the 10K I owe is pharmacy billing, that's too damn much money for couple of IVs and pain medicine.

I cannot let this stress me out any more, because I have noticed I am getting weaker by the day, can't stop shaking and biting my nails, I catch myself looking like a crazy person looking completely distressed, lost, can't pay attention to anything any more, and my mom and husband have been telling me for a month now to seek a psychologists.

I would go if they wouldn't charge this much, all the healing he would do would be reversed once I received his damn bill

Thanks for your advice girls, I really appreciate it ...

So call them and tell them $5 per pay period and see if they'll take it, do what you can to work with them.

I found out when I got to work someone else just sent me a garnishment so I'll never be out from under this mess!

  4. Congrats are in Order Whid.

    Thank you MrsJ.

    We are excited beyond belief.

I'm still trying to figure out how to get there for the interview. I have a free ticket and I think a lead on a buddy pass, but hotel, food & his medical are yet to be covered.

  5. Hope you won't mind me asking a question here that is completely off topic. I mean, I have never done that before :)

Anyone here have experience with delinquent medical bills? You can PM me of you don't wanna write about it in an open forum...

I got my hospital bills from when I was admitted -uninsured at the time, and now I owe them an outrageous amount.

I have a very good credit, and I am afraid it will be ruined now because I just don't have thousands of $ to pay these bills right now.

Someone told me the other day that medical bills do not affect one's credit rating. because basically one cannot always control what happens to one's health, bla bla and for that reason credit score is not affected by failure to pay medical bills.

I know, I know, I sound naive even asking if this is true. but I figured what the heck

Is there a difference in how medical bills are treated versus credit card bills when it comes to credit rating?

I am going to need to get a new apartment soon, a new car when husband gets here, and I am afraid I won't be approved for either if my credit score gets shot to hell because I am not paying these bills right now...

    Any advice is welcome.

    Thanks folks!

I had two hospital Emergency Room bills from 2007, one for slicing my leg open and needing several stitches and one for a staph infection I got from going to the ER for those stitches (along with phemonia). Because of circumstances I was not able to pay those bills (about $4K). The hospital did give me charity care for $2K of it. THEN this year with all the economic struggles the hospital decided to sell all of it's outstanding debts to bill collectors - thereby giving me bad hits on my credit. They also reversed the charity care and told the collectors I owed the $4K. The collectors then took it to court and now my paychecks are being garnished by 25%.

So to answer YES it will affect your credit IF your hospital sells it to collectors and collectors are getting REALLY impatient and taking debt to courts and forcing people to pay.

So my advice, call the hospital and arrange to pay like $50 a month, this will typically keep it from the bill collectors.

  6. Hi,

I wanted to go to my wife's interview at ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN. I have only one week of vacation time. Does anybody knows how long it takes to get the actual visa. Does Amex send it to your home or you have to go and pickup the visa.

Thank you and best of luck to all.

Why not go and stay for the time you can. If you can bring SO back at the same time GREAT if not, you know they will join you soon.

This is what I am doing. I fly to Senegal on the 3rd and fly home on the 7th. I'm HOPING they will issue visa the same day (they issue on Tues & Thursdays and our interview is on Thursday the 6th), but if they don't then he'll get the visa on the 11th and fly home on the 12th.

    Just my humble opinion.

Also Remo has an interview on Wednesday next week in Islamabad so we'll know soon enough :)

My reason to go to Pakistan is to bring her with me, otherwise it does not really work for me. I do not want to go if she is not coming back with me. Let see how Remo interview goes. Good Luck to Remo. I have noticed now a days they give the visa after at least one week delay through courier service. Thanks for the reply

Being there for her at the interview is a good reason to be there also.

I'm going not because my husband NEEDS me there but because it helps to show bonafide marriage.

  9. So we got my fiance birth certificate. Which made him to remember that his mother changed his middle name...

We have no clue if she legally changed it or not...

No matter what his "last middle name" appears on his passport.

We have no legal document reguarding this change...

So my guess is we shouldn't send a copy of his BC but the full copy of his passport.

    Correct?

I'm not sure how a middle name change really matters though...

Now I have a qestion about the letters of intend.

Should it be fully handwritten or just the signature?

    Thank you

    :star:

I can't say for certain for France but I guarantee if your SO was from an African country the name difference would NEVER fly! EVERYTHING has to match 100%

  10. OK so let's decipher our interview emails together:

  11. can any one please explain to me how NVC do the interview scheduling is it every month they do schedule the people or once every 2 month

The scheduling is done the 1st two weeks of every month..

thank you and this good to know some how I was thinking they do it every 2 month .

that mean I do have chance to get AUG interview my case get approved today (JUL / 10 /2009 )

    otherwise some time in SEP

Do NOT be surprised if you get a September interview. As I stated earlier and you did also there are ALOT of individuals going through Egypt so since your case was completed at the END of the processing cycle the liklihood of you getting an August interview is slim to none. My case completed on the 12th of June and Senegal is not as busy as Egypt and I had to wait an additional month.

So, if not today, my case will be complete by Monday. Girly, do you think we could catch the interview assignments this month? :(:crying:

I need an August interview so I can go back to college in September... The more classes I take next semester the better and easier for me. After that it will be very very hard with a baby in hands :P

I want to say yes, but you are right on the border, my case closed on June 12th and I had to wait until today.

    Sorry.

  15. Any one schedule for august or September yet?? Any one with complete cause from NVC witting for interview?

My cause complete today (JUL-10-2009) DO you think I will be schedule for the month of AUG

I highly doubt you will receive an August interview. Egypt is taking approximately 64 days from NVC complete to case assignment.

Thank you  . Can you please explain what do you mean by that? I mean the 64 days you talking about …

I watch the statistics for different embassies and the lastest information (last 3 months) the average wait between case being closed and the interview date is 64 days. So my guess is that you will receive a September interview, not an August one.

    If you go here: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list...pt&dfile=No

you will see that typically there are just 1 to 4 IR1/CR1 interviews per month from those who are on this site.
