Percy and I met in August of 2006 through a website to practice languages. We hit it off very well as friends. The more we talked to eachother, the better friends we became. Somewhere between that time and about February of 2007, he and I came to the realization that the conection that we had was something a lot more special than just friends. We had fallen in love, even though it was at a distance.
That summer, I decided that I must go to Peru and spend some time getting to know this man in person. We had an immediate, loving connection; even stronger than we could imagine through conversing through the internet. I spent a month with him, and I met his family and friends who were very welcoming and receiving to me. Percy and my relationship flourished greatly. It was as if we had known eachother our whole lives.
After leaving Peru, we had to maintain our relationship at a distance again, which is more difficult that I could express in words. There were a lot of ups, and a lot of downs....but somehow, our love out-lived everything.
We decided to take the giant leap of getting married, and did so in Peru on July 26th 2008, surrounded by family and friends. We are now in that grueling process of awaiting a visa, hoping to finally start our lives together and end forever the difficulty of being separated.
