Hi All,
I received an email from NVC that I am missing the following:
Please gather the below requested financial evidence:
[x] A copy of every W-2 form that relates to your _________2017__________________________ tax returns.
===
I checked the packets that I sent to NVC and I confirmed that my W-2s are there. Are they looking for my husband's W-2 as well since we filed jointly?
If so, is he also needing to sign I-864EZ? I don't need my husband to co-sponsor since my income is enough to bring my parents in the US.
I am just confused what they meant by the missing 2017 W-2s.
===
Also, how long does it normally take to schedule an interview by the time I got a noticed that they will forward my papers for interview anyway and my parents will bring the missing documents during the interview. The packets will be sent to Manila, Philippines.
===
I appreciate all the responses.
Thank you, All!

You can use either, assuming you qualify to use an I-864EZ (see the first 3 questions on it).
One I-864 is needed for each case.
Thank you!

Hi, I am confused as to which form should I use, I-864 or I-864EZ? And should I file 2 forms (1 for mom and 1 for dad)?
I appreciate the response.
Thank you!

Thank you for all your replies.
That is why I am torn, I do like to file a petition for both my parents to come here since I am a citizen already. The only problem I have it seems like they are hesitant to live here. I have 2 younger brothers in the Philippines and both have kids and they are dependent on my parents. Hence, this is also the reason why they don't want to live here for good because my brothers need more attention than me.
Should I gamble to have them apply for tourist for now? It is really a gamble because we are not pretty well off. Although, we have a "super small business" and they loaned a lot that is payable in 5 years so that they can build a house in the Philippines after 5 years.
Thanks, again!

Hello, All!
I am a US citizen, but parents are not planning to live here yet, but they do like to visit me here. My questions are:
1. What are the chances of the them coming here?
2. We are not well off in the Philippines, are they going to have a hard time? What are the strong valid evidence to increase their chances for visa?
3. How long would it normally take for the tourist visa?
4. Can I go with them in the interview, are they going to be interviewed individually?
5. I am planning to go visit Philippines next year in December and hoping to have them fly with us back in the US for a visit, is it too late for the processing right now?
6. Are they going to have an interpreter for the interview?
Sorry for the many questions. I just don't want to pressure my parents to live with me if they are not ready yet.
Thank you for all your response!

I want to bring my parents in the US and hopefully will start this year. I have a problem with regards to my father's birth certifcate. In my papers (when I was processing to come to US) he is always been "Juan" for this is the name shown in my parent's marriage contract and my birth certificate. Now, when I got his local live birth and NSO birth certificate, he's name is "Johnny" which he always used somehow (any legal papers he has except marriage contract and baptismal).
My question is do I have to spend time and money to have my father's name from Johnny to Juan or should I just use affidavit indicating that Johnny and Juan are the same person in order for me to proceed with my filing for them to come in the US?
Does anyone here knew or encountered the same situation?
Thank you and appreciate your help.
Have a good day

Hi Guys, one of the requirements mentioned is to be physically present in the last 18 months in the US i was out of country last month (for 21 days)therefore, i cannot file for citizenship this month and wait for 18 months from now? Does any of you guys experience the same situation or any ideas? Thank you...
-
HI! I was looking in the requirements for eligibility to apply for Naturalization and it says "18 months physically presence in the US" but i was out the country last month for 3 weeks so meaning i can only apply 18 months from now as a requirement for physically presence? Thanks in advance!

Hi VJers,
I am currently a permanent resident since November 2009 and now, my mother in law wants to go back to the Cebu, Philippines (we have the same hometown) and I want to accompany her for 2 weeks because I don't want her to travel alone. Am I still legible to apply for US citizenship since I will be having a trip this October? Will I have a hard time? Do I need to show proofs for my trip? For US citizenship application how long would that be?
Thank you for the replies.

Hi All!
Is it necessary to report marriage to the philippine consulate? If it is, when would be the best time to report marriage? Thanks in Advance for your replies.

i (the USC) never showed a bc, through k-1 or aos. my passport has been sufficient to show my citizenship, hope that helps! good luck!
Hi Kang Lang!
That's what I am thinking too. Because we did not show any BC when I had my K1 processed but now in my interview appointment it said "Your Petitioner's BC and your petitioner's evidence of United States Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Resident Status" so it got me confused because so far again I did not use my husband's BC not until now it seems like they required it. Thank you for the reply.
Any other replies would be of great help.
Thank you.

His Dad can translate it but the problem is how can we make it certified? we did not use his BC for the K1 interview we only use His passport and US Citizen Certificate. Is it really important in the AOS interview to have his BC or we can use other documents?
Thanks for the replies.

Hi all,
We have our I-485 interview scheduled on Nov.12 and it stated on the instructions that I need to have petitioner's BC but the problem is my husband's BC is in Thai since he was born in Thailand. Could this be a problem? or i can present other documents? And also his father can interpret it but it is not certified i wonder if where can we go to have it certified? Your reply is very much appreciated. Thank you.

I paid the visa application form in BDO (Filinvest-Alabang branch) today. The lady in the bank told me that it was their first time to have a client bringing completed DS-157 form and she insisted to provide me a blank form because they cannot guarantee me that the USEM will accept my form. I still asked her to just do machine validation on the DS-157 form that the attorney provided us. She validated the form I brought but she just asked me to sign a paper stating that I cannot refund my payment if the USEM refuse my DS-157 form.
Does anyone ever tried bringing completed DS-157 form in BDO for verification? Is it acceptable in the USEM?
I think it is just similar forms (downloaded online/form provided by BDO) and my fiance told me that it is better that I have my computer typed form validated rather then getting the blank form from BDO and filling-out the form by hand-writing because mine is more readable.
i brought my forms in BDO and it went fine. don't worry u will be ok. Good Luck

Just had my last conversation with my fiancee. She just walked out the door and headed to the USEM to find her place in line. 7am at gate 2. Alas, the final step in a maddening maze of misinformation, stress, money and patience.
God be with them and may they all pass!
Good Luck and God Bless
