Hey everyone,
we filed for I129F about a month ago, got our NOA1 about 10 days ago and then realized that my name was spelled wrong on the receipt. We then called the 800 number to check what was going on and apparently we had it fixed. Only, after finally getting it set, we received the following information : some notification date (in september 08) and some receipt number, completely different from the Noa1, ending in VSC. What is it? Are we supposed to do anything with it???? We havent been touched in almost 2 weeks either. Help???

So, we realized that they mispelled my name in our NOA1.... instead of Maria Cristina they wrote Paria Cristina (!!!!)
so Kenny called and they fixed it, but then gave us something we didnt really understand... some reference number and a reference date? You guys know what that is? The date is a date in september, and the reference is not another receipt number, just some reference. Anyone knows?Thank you so much

give it a couple weeks and then refile.

Whenever you get your check cashed, check the back of it. There you should find a number starting with EAC08 or WAS08.
(Eac is for Vermont, Was is for California)
That is your receipt number! It is also the same number you will find when you receive the NOA1 hard copy.
When you have that receipt number, go on http://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp
and register yourself as a customer. When you log in you can register your application to your portfolio and register to receive email updates. Remember that you will only receive email updates when you register, when you are approved or when you receive RFEs.
Otherwise, whenever you log in you will see a "last updated" date. That is the day your application received the last "touch".

I think you should be fine as long as, even if your I94 was lost, you gave them all the info to let them know that you actually left before the 90 day period was over.

Ghorabaa, that really sounds weird . Try to call them and talk to someone.... I am sure it is prob just a wrong digit or a stupid mistake

So what happens exactly about the varicella chicken pox thing? I am asking because it is apparently the only vaccine that is not given at the medical exam in Italy
-
Hi everyone,
I just recently found out that girls up to 26 (am I right?) have to get HPV vaccine along with the rest of medical before the interview. Is this true for K1 as well? Does this have to be done before the K1 interview or at the medical for AOS? I mean I have no problems with it I was just curious because if it is actually needed I will just get it before
Also, since I am here: I read you need to get the vaccine for chickenpox as well. I do not have a vaccine, but I did have chcikenpox as a child. Do I just tell the doctor or what?
Thank you!

Well I hope it all works out Aubrey!
Worse case try to find a back up job for the time your fiance has to go through the interview and AOS !
I was wondering what is wrong with friends living in different states?

So guys just a quick question after reading all your thread.... The correct answer to part C for a non military is
1) NA
2) NO
3) nothing since its a follow up of 2?

You are usually fine driving with an internationl drivers licence until everything else is taken care of.... you just wont be able to get your own car until then.

They are also usually very nice at SFO POE.

You dont need a SSN to open a bank account or for a library card... in fact I had both before having a SSN. My SSN also doesnt state anything about work authorization. I was just wondering if anyone had the same situation

I already have a SSN. What difference does it make for EAD and work authorization on K1?I know I am thinking too far ahead... but curious!

There is only one number for all centers and that would be 800-375-5283
-
Jolies, did your fiancee ever send in the passport pictures? Where did they ask you to send them?
-
K1 is slightly faster at Vermont Service Center, but K3 is apparently faster in California.
The waiting times, though, are not too too different right now. K1 is also a bit easier at first because it requires a bit less documentation at first (that you are still gonna need AT SOME POINT, though!). Good luck and congratulations
-
Hey Aubrey,
I realize the situation is no fun , but I was thinking... can you find any of your friends co-sponsoring you?
-
good idea! Is there any chance we can talk to your US fiancee on this forum?
-
I think there is a good chance that might be the cause of the delay. Call the 1800 number and explain them about your case. They might just suggest you to refile
The number is 800-375-5283

Hey we are all trying to help you!!!!!!!!!!
Have you ever received a receipt number anywhere? something that starts with WAC07 or EAC07 or something like that? We are trying to help you here!
-
SO Jolie, do you have a receipt number at all or not? I think you most likely need to refile. Was your check ever cashed?
-
did you receive a NOA1 at all?
Mispelled names?

I cant really take pictures because it is a number I was given on the phone when I corrected my number. Its funny cos every document we submitte had the right info, but the NOA1 has a typo. I am sure it wont be a big deal, cos they said it happens all the time, but I was curious what those number and date meant. We plan on calling again today
