  1. My lawyer send my forms in December 2007 to Chicago, and so far I don't have even the Receipt Number.

    Is normal all this time???

    Thank You,

    Hey Floridadias,

I would say NO, that is not normal at all, but have you asked your lawyer if HE has received the receipt number? in any case, NO , that is really too long, you should consider calling them or refiling. Was your check ever cashed? IF so, you should be ok. Just call them and have them send you a copy of the receipt.

btw, what did you file for? I assumed IR-1/CR-1... maybe you can update that in your profile!Good luck!

  2. I was simply thinking that my petition is possibly gonna be approved by then, but I certainly will not have a K visa stamped. So my plans are s to go before the K1 visa and then get back, go for the interview, and then quit my job and move etc. So the "not activated" thing is not the issue, I am sorry if I was being confusing. I just meant, would they care at the interview when they open my passport and see that I travelled to the US just a few weeks before going to the interview.

  3. Hey,

I am reading a post about filling out the "work in the last 5 years" question, and I am slightly freaking out, because our G325 A form only reports times when he or I were actually working,e.g

    Jun 05 - Jun 06 = Working in ... for.....

    Dec 06 - July 07 = Working in.... for...

and we did NOT put down Jun 06 - Dec 06 = Unemployed.

Is that gonna be a problem?? Are we likely to receive a RFE for this? We simply skipped all the times when he or I were students and/or unemployed. I easily freak out reading other posts :)

  4. So I have a couple more questions: does it make a difference that the petition I129f is approved or still pending, given that you dont have a visa stamped on your passport yet?

Do they care if you went for business or pleasure? Because I am going for business, but really I wouldnt care about going if it wasnt also to see my fiancee and spend christmas with him. So it is simply this: I have the chance to go with a free ticket, work for 2 weeks and then see him for 1 week at Christmas, when tickets are so expensive :) Do they care at any stage? I just get so frustrated with people getting denied even when they have bonafide relationships, that I think of any possible thing that might happen ! I just want to be with him :)

  5. Hey, I think he needs to mail this out http://www.giustizia.it/servizi_cittadino/certificati/62.pdf to the Tribunal of the area where he lived. Also, the instructions are stated here http://www.giustizia.it/servizi_cittadino/c1-5.htm . The payment, of 14,62 € + 3,10€, has to be in euros, but you can probably get a money order or something. You can even try to call the office in Milan ( here is the full list of offices.. http://www.giustizia.it/cgi-bin/ricerca-uffici), +390254361 , and see if they can tell you any specific information. I think you should have your fiance call directly the Tribunal of the city where he was living, since the procedure for the payment might be Tribunal-specific. Have him call them and speak Italian to them (I am sure some do speak english, but well........) . Hope this helps :)

  6. My fiance is planning to get a new job around Dec. Right now, he is mainly doing free lance job, so he does not really have any way to prove how much he makes. As soon as our petition is approved, though, we were planning on him getting a job " with a paycheck" so that we can use that for the I134. Does it make a difference that his job will be "so recent?"

His previous employer (before the freelance) is hard to reach in order to get a letter stating that he was working there before and for how long (a paid internship), so we were planning on just counting on the new job he will get in Dec and if needed a cosponsor.

    Is that enough?

2nd question: does the 125% poverty line have to be before taxes or after??

  7. So he/the sponsor would be set with just filling out that part? What about school loans payment?

Also, another question. The consulate in Italy only requires to see one year of tax returns, but my fiance was a student in college last year, so he was making some money, but not THAT much. Is that going to be a problem if his/our sponsor's current income are sufficient? Also, can the sponsor be a very good friend of both?

    and... THANK YOU!

  8. Hey everyone,

as many of you know, we received our NOA1 at the end of July, and we currently waiting to be approved :)

We hope that will happen by mid -end November.

I have a business trip planned in the US for my company for the weeks of Dec 8-19 under the VWP (which, of course, would also allow me to see my fiance)

I certainly will not have the K1 visa on my passport by then, so that does not worry me much, but there is (I hope!!!!) chance that we will have been approved by then.

My question is: when I go for my business trip, will they care that I have a pending K1 visa application? Will they actually know at all? Of course that shows that I have strong ties to my home country (such as... a job), but is it possible to take a business trip on VWP when the I129F is already approved? Did anyone happen to have the same situation?

Thank you for your helppppppp :=

  9. Hi everyone,

I am preparing (ahead of time) for all vaccines for the K1 interview/medical, which will be in Naples... hopefully by January or something.

I will be 26 in June 09, so ideally I will have to do HPV vaccine. My question is: do I have to get that vaccine before I enter the US or is it mandatory only when I apply for AOS? Also, what about the other vaccines? Does anyone know the full list of vaccines required for K1 and the full list of vaccines required for AOS? or can address me ? Thank you so much. This stuff can be a pain.........

  10. Hey guys,

can anyone tell me what the times between approval and interview in Naples Italy are? I am looking at the timelines but only 2 couples filled in their timelines on VJ from Italy over the last year and none over the last 3 months, so it is kind of hard for me to find out about reliable times :)

Anyone who went trhough the process more recently can give me some update?? Thank you so much and good luck to everyone :)

  11. so we had a referral number on something similar, and it is just a number they give you as a reference to tell you that they will look at your file before a certain date (referral date)....it is basically just a proof you called them and told them to look at your file... at least that is our case... they mispelled my name in the NOA 1 (even though all our documents had my correct name) and they gave us a referral number ending with VSC and a date.

We were so concerned about the meaning of this that we ended up calling until we finally found someone who explained it to us.... So basically they gave us a date of Sept 8th, meaning that if I dont see a touch by then I am going to think they forgot about the mistake they made. Does it make sense? I hope it helps somehow. I am so sorry for your situation :(
