Well, most people who filed in June and July havent got anything yet. Vermont is kind of slow right now, so for someone who filed about 2 months ago, 46 days is kind of fast no matter how organized you are!

Thw line between intention to immigrate and not is really subtle............... so I think that either the chance to adjust from VWP or tourist visa is given, or it isnt given at all. I could have just gone to the US on VWP and go see friends and then at the end of it go like "OOOPS" I guess I am gonna get married too!!!!! But i didnt because I believe that the rule should just be one for all of us. always, always, remember that it can be a risk to adjust from VWP (although apparently not that risky). I didnt know of any package to be received once in the US with K1, but I might totally be wrong, so I am curious to see what other people will say

I am wondering now if I wrote the correct thing. In other names used I wrote my name Middle and Last names as other names used because some of my school reports and my bank account have my name on it but without the First name. I wasnt sure if it counted so I put it. Did I only have to write "significant" other names such as name on passport or IDs? Or also "not official" other names used count (as I thought)? Thank you.

It just means they received it and put it in a box until the time to look at it comes whcih will hopefully be soon!

So i have to make a decision and i don't know what to do.

I wrote another post previously about having an interview date for CR1 on the 29th of September. However i've just been sent another interview date for the K3 which is on 26th. It would be better for me to go to the one on the 26th. I have emailed requesting the 26th to be changed to CR1 interview, but not sure if i'll get response.

So if i dont get a response, i'm not sure if i should just go and request it when i am down there. They have all my documents and everything.

Some people have already said just to go, but i would like more of a confirmation.

I think you misunderstood the OP question

I would say that when you go there for the 26th you can ask your K3 interview to be switched to CR-1 as long as you have all the needed documents

You can also look at Igor's list and see where you stand on that list and who is being approved right now. I'd say you should navigate around position 50 or something and should be approved soon. I am also not sure if youre going through Cuba (as country says) or Switzerland (as timeline says) but consider that the Consulate in Cuba is taking about 90 days for the interview (vs 20 in Switzerland).

Your timeline says you should be approved about now. So I would expect an answer around these days or by the end of September!

Times for processing visas received at the Swiss consulate can be found here and they seem to be pretty fast (around 20 days after receiving). So, expect about 2 weeks after approval for the consulate to receive (NVC usually takes only a few days.... although many people have experienced more!) and then another 20-30 days for your interview to come up. In the meantime, you can start gathering documents (police reports, birth certificate...) from Cuba as well and from any other country you lived in. Good luck! Your (K1) journey will be done soon!

It is actually now mandatory 16-26 in order to obtain permanent residency.

I hope we all can! Keep in mind that the processing dates are only for the USCIS stage. It takes about another 2-3 months AFTER that. So, do not put too much hope on a Christmas together in the US, you might be disappointed
