It has been a long process. It is an expensive process. We were married in July of 07 after knowing each other for 5 years. We did not have official Marriage documents from the Court in Cairo until April 08. I came home and we had to obtain the money to make the filing for Homeland Security. Filed application which ended up delayed due to Primary elections, then the process started up again when that was over. Got approval to move forward to NVC by October. NVC recieved and had sent papers to lawyer in beginning of May 09. Did not know about anything until June. Lawyer said she had wrong number for me although I had given her the updated number for exactly those reasons. Said the mail was returned to sender from the post office why I have no clue she had the correct address. After all that non sense did not have money to pay invoices until July 09. Paid invoices got confirmation of the receipt of payment and cover letter documents to do AOS and all records for my husband. Turned in AOS and records. Waited patiently then got notice that missing military record 12/3/09. Called and advised no they had the record. Sup review 10-15 bus days. On the 14th business day called and finally finished review woman on phone at NVC stated no they did not have it. Hung up frustrated because we would have to obtain yet again. Called back one more time to clarify you dont have the paper or the paper is not the one you need. Advised has the paper we sent but not the right one needed thank Allah I called them back alhamdulilah. Now on the qwest of getting correct one although not even the NVC can tell me what the correct document is. Was told to go to Ministry of War dept of recreuitment. Find out this morning on thread here that the name has changed to Department of Defense no wonder we could not find them. Husband was already in Cairo too late went to another place they said they will send paper to him in Saturday enshallah it will be the correct one they said it is they do this for many people going abroad. I sure hope so. NVC will allow email with scan of paper to make sure before we mail that this is the correct document for sure, if not back to Cairo. I just wanted my husband here, if we were told all this back in October before we mailed the documents we thought they wanted we could have had January interview date. At this rate we will be lucky to get this interview by April 2010. I dont know how much more of this I can take or my husband for that matter. He feels like a child lost with no direction as I do here as well. Enshallah we will do what we must and hopefully this place will be providing what the NVC wants.
