Our Story
We met online in July of 2005 and I travelled to Charlotte to meet Gordie about five weeks later. (We were logging 2-3 hours on the phone every day plus emails.) After only six face-to-face vacations/visits we decided to marry. We filed for a K-1 in February of 2006. It got so messed up by Homeland Security at the eleventh hour that the US Consul in Montreal gave me a CR1 visa when I went for my interview. I was told this has never, ever happened. I was never told exactly what the snafu was but it had something to do with the incorrect alien number being assigned to me.
