@Ontarkie What is your main problem with the litter? Is it that the volume of litter does not last long enough (scooping it out and all), or that the odours are not well controlled? Here, both cats insist on using the same box and no matter what, I need to top it up eventually, and then change the whole thing when it is not "fresh" anymore. The little beasts tonight 🥰

The good thing is that for such a short period, if they don't get their visas, it is possible to hire a nanny for support and assistance. Is your employer providing you with some leave also? Grand-parents can then grandparent later, when they are able to come.

Use your driver's license/State ID and SSN card. Read the i-9 instructions for possible combination. better not to show it anywhere - in my experience, it is better to keep your immigration process to yourself, without ever pretending to be a citizen - just state that you are a Permanent Resident. Show only what is required, when necessary. Less is usually better.

Vawa Dispute
Lemonslice replied to Anonymous9999's topic in Effects of Major Family Changes on Immigration Benefits
As others have told you, there is no VAWA dispute. If you have evidence of fraudulent activity, you can follow the instructions at the bottom of this page: VisaJourney.com recommends that if any member or user knows directly of someone involved in fraudulent or illegal activity, that they report such activity directly to the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement. You can contact ICE via email at Immigration.Reply@dhs.gov or you can telephone ICE at 1-866-347-2423 -

How to fill out all these USCIS Forms?
Lemonslice replied to TWISTIE's topic in General Immigration-Related Discussion
Most users are able to fill the forms without experiencing too many problems, so the hiccup is probably on the side of your computer/tablet. You might want to reinstall the latest version of Adobe Reader, and make sure to open the forms in Adobe, not in your browser. .... https://www.uscis.gov/forms/filing-guidance Downloading and Printing Immigration Forms We provide free fillable forms through our website in PDF format, which means you can type your answers directly on the form instead of printing a blank form and writing your answers by hand. For the best results, we suggest you download the PDF to your computer and complete the form using the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader rather than completing the PDF through your web browser. You can download Adobe Acrobat Reader for free from the Adobe website. Download Instructions After opening the form in your web browser: In Microsoft Edge, click the Save icon (second from the right) in the ribbon at the top of the page, or press Ctrl (or Command ) and S on your keyboard. After saving the form to your computer, click on the form icon to reopen it in Adobe Acrobat Reader. In Google Chrome or Firefox, click the Download icon (second from the right) in the ribbon at the top of the page or press Ctrl (or Command) and S on your keyboard. After saving the form to your computer, click on the form icon to reopen it in Adobe Acrobat Reader. The Chrome extension might be on if, when using Google Chrome, you see this error message: “An error occurred. An error was encountered while processing the file. Some features might not work.” You can remove or disable the Chrome extension by following these steps: 1. Open Chrome; 2. Click the ellipsis in the right corner; 3. Click Settings; 4. Select “Extensions”; and 5. Remove or turn off the Chrome extension on the “Adobe Acrobat: PDF edit, convert, sign tools” tab. In Safari, open the form, hover your mouse toward the bottom-center of the screen to bring up the gray icon, and click the Download icon on the right corner of the gray icon, or press Command and S on your Mac keyboard. After saving the form to your computer, click on the form icon to reopen it in Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you are required to sign the form , you must print the document and write your signature by hand before submitting your form. We will not accept a stamped or typewritten name in place of a signature. Warning: Many non-USCIS websites also offer immigration forms for downloading. These sites may also ask you to pay for immigration forms (which are available for free on our website) and may not have the correct form version. In some circumstances, your case may be delayed or rejected if you use an outdated form. You can find the latest version any USCIS form on our Forms page. -
How to fill out all these USCIS Forms?

Will be easier to use a computer than a tablet. I strongly suggest you try to use a computer instead. Public libraries are good resources, if you do not have your own at home. -
Congratulations on your recent marriage! A few answers: #4) To continue from question #2, the next question is “What is the country of issuance for the beneficiary’s Passport or Travel Document?” I’m guessing this is the United States correct? Or would it be Canada? Her passport has probably been issued by India. #8) So I’m in the Texas, United States, she’s in Toronto, Canada. I’m guessing we’d go with the U.S. Embassy or Consulate location since she’s outside of the United States correct? If so, I googled embassies/consulates and I typed in Toronto, Ontario, Canada for that section. All interviews for spousal visas take place at the Consulate in Montreal, Quebec . #10) The biggest question of all, it is now asking to upload proof of marriage. So we don’t live together, don’t have any joint ownership of property, bank accounts/financial resources commingled, etc. Our marriage is legit, 100%. Other ideas: You can already add each other as beneficiaries to financial accounts (banking, retirement, insurance, etc.); most credit card providers will also let you add your spouse as an authorized user. Wills/living wills are also good documents to have, for immigration, but more importantly, in life.

It is not that the country itself is inferior, or superior; it has to do with the history of behaviors from applicants, and in some cases, the country's recordkeeping capabilities. Pretending that all things are equal from a location to another is a disservice to applicants. For example, the U.S. Embassy and Consulate in Nigeria has a full section dedicated to Scams: https://ng.usembassy.gov/scams/ The FBI even made a podcast about the romance scams: https://www.fbi.gov/audio-repository/news-podcasts-thisweek-african-romance-scams.mp3/view For comparison, you can visit the Fraud section on the U.S. Embassy in Canada website: https://ca.usembassy.gov/visas/report-fraud/ Illegal activities happen in each and every country, but some scams are much more frequent in some locations. Do what you want with this information, but do not be naïve and think that the local diplomatic missions are blind to what is going on. With that, I hope that all legitimate couples can be reunited as quickly as feasible. It can be hard to be apart.

K-1 Travel Insurance Options
Lemonslice replied to Sha-Lee88's topic in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America
You can call your insurance and ask for a quote for a short-term plan to cover your spouse-to-be. Then you can call Blue Cross, Aetna, United, etc. and compare the quotes. It won't be cheap, but you might only need it for a few days until you get married/add your spouse to your plan. -

You can usually scan a multiple pages document by changing the settings of your scanner/software you use to scan. Alternatively, you can merge documents. -

CR-1 or IR-1 [split topic]
Lemonslice replied to kubda89's topic in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America
It's not uncommon for the visa to be issued after the two year anniversary. Most people do not send they application the day they get married, so that little time period+current processing time=over 2 years since the wedding day.- 25 replies

The permanent resident will have to remove conditions before their 2-year card expires, the "wedding anniversary" date will not really matter in this process (but evidence covering the duration of the marriage should still be sent). Full details here: ETA: If at all possible, it is not a bad idea to delay entry after the second wedding anniversary.- 25 replies
