  1. Some members met their future spouses while they were still minors, was that your case? Please keep us updated when you hear more about what is happening (RFE or NOID).
  2. She can always request to get her passport back and return it by courier later. Not a rare occurrence.
  3. Look at the machine readable portion of your passport (with the chevrons << >>) for the universal spelling of your name.
  4. Sorry you misconstrued my answer. Best of luck.
  5. Again, no one is getting deported. She files again with more evidence. As for the rest of your rant, that won't fix your wife's current situation, so you might want to reach out to local organizations helping immigrants (https://www.immigrationadvocates.org/legaldirectory/ ), your elected representatives, a friend, or therapist.
  6. If the notice has two pages, then it is two pages. "Expired Conditional Resident Card, Form I-551 accompanied by Original Form I-797, Notice of Action indicating the card validity is extended" https://www.cbp.gov/sites/default/files/assets/documents/2023-Nov/Carrier Information Guide ENGLISH.pdf
  7. K1 has nothing to do with removal of conditions. ROC has to be done by many immigrants who never had a K1. It is an administrative process, not a court case; no one is found guilty. US citizens are not judged, but immigrants have to remove conditions by providing proper evidence. You said yourself you do not have traditional evidence of your bonafide marriage, so how do you expect them to validate it, without submitting enough evidence? Clerks, officers, or judges, no matter who handles your file, they are not mind readers. Again, just submit everything she has. At worst, she files again (and will have more evidence by then). Best of luck to your wife.
  8. No one has to accept a copy. See page 10 of 92: "Expired Conditional Resident Card, Form I-551 accompanied by Original Form I-797, Notice of Action indicating the card validity is extended" https://www.cbp.gov/sites/default/files/assets/documents/2023-Nov/Carrier Information Guide ENGLISH.pdf
  9. Someone might be able to confirm, but because the number of diversity visas is limited, requesting a waiver might mean that there is no more visa available by the time the waiver is processed. Something to think about...
  10. Thank you. I think @JANETandLYLE is adjustment of status after a K1 (entry was done 15ish years ago), but it is my understanding that it is the same requirements. Am I correct?
  11. You really need to read the instructions for the affidavit of support: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-864instr.pdf Do you have an accountant to handle the taxes for your business? Maybe @pushbrk could help you understand better, and you could then submit your adjustment of status, it has been long overdue now.
  12. I went back to your history. Have you talked to someone about that persecution complex? Someone will find the exact statistics for you, but 90%+ of removal of conditions are approved. Just keep sending all that you have. No one is trying to get you.
  13. Yes, absolutely. You could have been traveling without access to the Internet and not even know the new card is in production. Some people have had trouble by discussing the status update with foreign check-in agents at the airport, since there is no need to confuse them (expired card+letter of extension=valid documents) "B. U.S. RESIDENTS — must provide one of the following: • Permanent Resident Card, Form I-551 • Expired Conditional Resident Card, Form I-551 accompanied by Original Form I-797, Notice of Action indicating the card validity is extended [...]" see page 10/92: https://www.cbp.gov/sites/default/files/assets/documents/2023-Nov/Carrier Information Guide ENGLISH.pdf
  14. Are you against adding each other as beneficiaries on financial documents? What about wills, living wills? Those things are important in life, not just for immigration... Are yours set up to someone else, or did you simply forget to set it up (wills, beneficiaries)?
  15. Wills, living wills? Without sharing accounts, aren't you beneficiaries on each other's accounts?
  16. There is nothing else anyone here can predict. Reapply when you want, but understand that you might never get another visa. Maybe time will help, maybe not. No one here knows what was noted on your file, and the consulate does not have to disclose it. The only certain thing is that if you do not apply, you will not know. Please come back and update us after your interview.
  17. Really dependent on the employer and/or position. Most jobs requiring only a GED or high school degree won't care or ask. Then, if you have years or professional experience, your most recent accomplishments/certification/whatever will weigh more heavily. College applications, again, it depends. I completed another graduate program after moving to the US and I did not have to have my courses/degree evaluated, and simply submitted my transcripts; but in other fields, I would have had to... I would not pay to have anything evaluated before I knew for sure it would be requested.
  18. Please read the guides and the instructions for each of the forms, that will answer most of your questions. If anything is unclear while preparing the petitions, do come back with more specific questions
  19. No need to notify anyone. If you want to include a note, you can always say something like: "As requested, please find enclosed: a) ...; b)..., c) passport (recently renewed)" - however, this is not necessary.
  20. I think you need to stop, think, discuss, and decide where your children will/want to live (are they in college? do they want to live with their other parent?, and other factors important to your family). If the plan is for them to live in the US, then having your spouse petition them asap is the quickest, most efficient, way to go. It they will continue to live in Canada, then they are able to visit you.
  21. Did the consulate tell you you have to go in for a second oath?
  22. https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=478346 It will help members understand where you are in the process. What kind of applications have you filed? How many of them?
  23. Are the prison visits contact, or no contact? Are they exactly the same type as the people you know who were approved?
