  1. I'm sorry; I should have worded it better! Well, I mean to say I want to get married to her so that we're inseparable! I can't withstand how she would live without me (I cook and also clean for us). My F-1 visa doesn't expire until 2027. I happened to graduate early, although my I-20 expired since I graduated.
  2. We don't want a lawyer, as it can be very expensive, and most of the work is going to be paperwork. I do understand you're trying to say we need to have a lawyer to guide us better, but I have read many cases of lawyers not taking the case seriously and misfiling paperwork
  3. I am currently on an F-1 visa, and I was planning to marry my partner, and hoping we can get an I-485 receipt, which I can use to pay in-state tuition
  4. Yes, she is well past her childbearing age, and my family and friends do not approve! I haven't even told my family because that's how scared I am. I do have Indian citizenship, so yes, I will face scrutiny! I am sorry your battle took so long! I hate it when Older men just get away with it! USCIS needs to increase their security! Did your family ever come around (husband's family). I will ask my partner if she wants to make an account here, and will update you guys accordingly. Just to be sure, is your account managed by both of you? Cause I'd like to know who I am talking to, lol.
  5. Hi! Thanks for responding back, and surprisingly, I was just looking at several profiles and stumbled upon yours. We did discuss marriage at the very beginning of our relationship, and she did agree, but we didn't talk about it after that. The other thing is that my family doesn't reside in India, we live in the Middle East, so I am not sure if this helps our case??? I wouldn't be returning back to India, but rather to the Middle East.
  6. I am not sure if I posted on the correct thread, please guide me where else to post it.
  7. I have a case of 24M and 54 F (US citizen). We have been living together for the past 5 months, and have been together for 4 months before that. We love each other, and her family and kids also know about me! I have been thinking of getting married to her so we can move into a bigger house and plan our future together! The only thing that’s holding me back is our age difference and cultural norms (South Asian), which will scrutinise us a lot more. I know cases with Age gaps get approved if there's an age difference between an older man and a younger woman, whereas the latter doesn't go through. She has stated multiple times that she loves me, and I do as well. We are on the same lease, gym membership, and Amazon accounts She makes enough to qualify for the financial requirement, but I also can’t provide affidavits from my side because my friends and family are not on par with this. Currently, I am in the United States with an F-1 visa, and I have graduated, but I am nearing my unemployment period because of this bad market! (This isn't the reason for marriage, but I am stating it.) I am hoping if we do get the I-485 receipt, I can take that to colleges that accept it, and can continue on my F-1 visa, thus I am not out of status, as some colleges accept the I-485 receipt. We haven't filed anything yet. I am in such a mess, I have no idea what to do!
