  1. Are there no instances of intending immigrants using their income for it? Because together we hit the $26k-ish limit very easily. It's just counting only his that we don't reach it by merely 2k.
  2. Well I am in the US, the work is in US, so I was wondering if I can be the household member and have my income count as well?
  3. Hi there, I'm here on an F-1 visa, currently on month 7 of my OPT post masters. We've been together for 7 years now and are finally getting married soon and he's sponsoring me, and starting the paperwork. We're worried about the affidavit of support because he makes a bit less than 125% of the poverty guideline. I'm currently freelancing and have a substitute job at the library from which I make enough to contribute 50% to our household bills and expenses (we've lived together for majority of our relationship). I was wondering is it possible to count my income along with his? We also have a small nest savings account that I opened under my name, but just recently we added his name as an authorized user to it too. I know there is the option of a joint sponsor if a family member offers, but I want to see if we can use my income before we have to reach out to our family. Any and all suggestions would be helpful! Best, Shreeya
