  1. Where I'm from they don't legally change your last name to your husband's name once your married. You can use it but it's not legally changed. So in my passport it says "wife of" with my ex husband's last name.
  2. Hi everyone, We sent in our I-129F package several weeks ago. But now I'm wondering if I (the beneficiary) can get a new passport? In my old one it says "wife of" and a signature that I used when I was previously married. I always wanted to get a new passport because of this, especially since starting a new life and being engaged I don't like seeing "wife of" and an old signature in my passport. Last week I gained full custody over my son, so now I dislike seeing this info in my passport even more. Now I'm wondering if I can get a new passport when we already sent in a copy of my old one, and I signed the package with my signature related to my ex husband. Can I get a new passport and change my signature? If so, do I need to contact anyone and keep them up to date? Thank you.
  3. I feel kinda stupid now, the letter we received was our NOA1! I just thought it was a receipt of our payment, and I assumed the NOA1 would include a "welcome to USCIS" message because I thought I read that somewhere 😅
  4. Oh that's great! Glad to hear you've received your NOA1 and hopefully soon we will as well then 😁
  5. Hi, We've sent our package exactlyn2 weeks ago. So far we've only received a text message saying they've received it and we should expect a letter in the mail, and a receipt for the $675. We haven't received a welcome letter with a receipt number and online access code yet. How long does this normally take? I had a look on several people's timelines and often people received it in a few days already.
  6. Great! Thanks so much! I was wondering where I read that 😁
  7. Hi, we're about to mail our package!! So excited. I know what address to use, but I read somewhere we need to include on the envelope that it's an original submission for the I-129F, I just can't find where I read that. Is this true?
  8. Hi everyone everyone, My fiancé and I are about to send in our K1 package. On the I-129F form there's a question that asks where the beneficiary (me) will live once I get to the US. My fiancé is going to sell the house and move somewhere in a few months though. So the address I'll be moving to that's on our form now would have to be changed at some point. Is this possible? If so, how and where do we do this? Thanks 😊
  9. That's good to know, thank you. I already took one, but then I realized my ears not showing, so I wanted to double check 🤭
  10. Ok, that makes sense. So your hair down or having bangs should be no problem then? May I ask what you did?
  11. I'm aware, but it doesn't say whether you need to be able to show your ears or not. Where I'm from it's normal to do so, but I can't find any guidelines on it for US passport standards.
  12. Hi, does anyone know if your ears need to be visible or not in the passport style pictures? Thank you.
  13. Oh my god, so many amazing tips and feedback! Thanks everyone!! One more quick question. I keep reading how people signed and dated every single page of their package (including photos, birth certificate and other evidence). How has done this and who hasn't? When you didn't, was this a problem and did you get an RFE?
  14. That sounds like a great idea, thanks! I'll definitely take a birth certificate and school information, hopefully that will be fine then. Especially since I can show our return tickets too 😊
  15. Thank you so much for the detailed information, I appreciate it! That really must help me put something together. I have had jobs in the past, just not the last 5 years. I donhave ties to this country still since I have a son who goes to school here, so I'm hoping they won't see that as a problem then. We wanna file next month and hopefully visit in July on ESTAs we already have. This will be our only trip there until we get approved. My fiancé will come and visit us instead after our summer trip 😊
  16. That's so useful!! Thank you so much! I read in your profile that you or your husband had the interview in Frankfurt. Do you know if you're allowed to go to the interview together?
  17. Thanks for the tips!! Do you have any suggestions on how to put the package together? Like with staples, paperclips or punch holes?
  18. Thank you so much for your feedback! I'm trying to tone it down a bit since 8 years of evidence might be a bit much for them to go through 🤭 I was wondering if the passport pictures were fine that way, that's good to know, thanks!!
  19. Hi everyone, My fiancé and I are putting are package together to file for a K1 visa. But I have a few questions about a few things, maybe you can help 😊 First of all, I'd like to apologize! I feel like I've been posting way too much on this forum because we're putting our package together but I think I'm slowly losing my mind doing so, haha. I've looked up information on all kinds of website on how to put a package together, I've been on this forum, and I've read the K1 visa guide on here as well, and I'm kind of at a lost right now. I read a lot of people say that including too many documents or too much "evidence" might be too much for the USCIS officers to read, or it could even raise red flags. Yet the guide tells you the more evidence you show (plane tickets, hotels, train tickets, receipts, real photos, boarding passes). What we have done so far is show our 10 trips as a collage on 1 page per trip. On every page we have a few photos of us together, screenshots of our boarding passes and Airbnb stays. Will this be good enough? Are real pictures on photo paper better? Right now it's on normal printing paper. Also, I read it's best to put our names on every page, has anyone done that? Do passport style pictures, do they have to be professional pictures or can you take them yourself too? Anyone who's taken them themselves, were they approved or did you have to send in new ones? Also, does it make a difference what order you put all the evidence and documents in? What did you guys do? And then one final big question about the form itself. I'm the beneficiary, it asks about my employment over the last 5 years but I haven't had a job. I've received state benefits and I've done volunteering work, do I mention where I got my income from (so the state benefits), do I mention actual work I've done (so my volunteering), or nothing at all since I didn't have a paying job? I'm so sorry for all the questions. I know it's a lot and I appreciate everyone's help so much. We just can't wait to be together (we've been a couple for 8 years), and we don't wanna mess anything up with forms and documents because that might mean we have to wait even longer. Agh, all the anxiety!!
  20. So far what we've done is put our boarding passes, our Airbnb bookings and some pictures of us together on a page per trip 😊
