  1. We're ready to file the I-130. We're just waiting on an updated version of our current lease. Apparently the owner never had me on it for whatever reason, but that should be taken care of shortly. Plan right now is to file the first week of April, hopefully get to the NVC stage and then delay it a year, so we can hit our 2028 mark.
  2. Unfortunately, it will be in the Philippines at the Manila consulate and I heard some horror stories coming out of there.
  3. Awesome. So, per the benefit/reward letters from the VA and SSA, i can change the address at a moments notice. Would it be recommended, to change those addresses, to my domicle in the US? The reason I ask this, is because I'm technically not outside the US temporarily, but that could be argued due to the whole covid pandemic.
  4. Hi and apologizes for starting another topic so soon after the one I just posted, I just felt this would be much easier to separate the two. So, I'm a disabled veteran receiving compensation and SSDI. I haven't been required to file a tax returns since about 2009, since according to the IRS I make no income. Going through the information about the I-864, I am definitely 125% above the Federal poverty line, even with two beneficiarys. Will not having tax returns hurt us? I also read there are certain tax codes/rules I can attach to this, which shows I am essentially excempt from filing taxes, which for all intents and purposes I make $0 income. I do have investments, which i haven't touched in years from family who passed away and i got into Bitcoin early, but I don't touch any of it. It was always a "set and forget" till retirement, which unfortunately came at a young age during the wars. Anyway, if anyone could possibly maybe ease my anxiety on this, I would appreciate it. Thank you.
  5. Good morning/evening, I'm seeking on advice on how to reach our goal and thank you again to everyone who answered my other concerns. Alright, so here it is in a nutshell. I would like to take my wife and son to the US in 2028, after our son has graduated high-school. From my understanding, you can delay the NVC stage up to one year and then delay the interview up one up one year, which if we apply next month would possibly put us somewhere around January/February 2028. Now, I know nothing is guaranteed in this life, but we have solid evidence for every step of the way. What would be best way to go forward here? Also, I read their entry visas are only good for six months? If that is the case and we can hit January/February 2028, that would absolutely be a good spot to be in. Thank you in advance for any commenting and suggestions.
  6. Apologizes. The police clearance was issued after she arrived in Romania. Essentially she had a police clearance from Romania that is definitely out of date. The good news is, we have lawyers in several European countries, from my businesses there. I apologize if this came off confusing, but neither of us have immigrated for the purposes of citizenship. I only had a business visa in Romania, she had a work visa. Which is weird, I never had to get a police clearance for my business visa 🤔. I just paid my lawyers and they did whatever needed to be done, but I went through my records and don't have one myself haha.
  7. I understand. Thank you and Thank you to everyone else. This is a very big step for us and i just don't want to be caught in a situation where we need a document and we don't have it. I've explained to my wife now, because she thinks here old police clearance from Romania dated back to something like 2019 is acceptable and I told her no.
  8. Sorry,my wife just doesn't believe this lol. I've had to show her multiple sources *these comments as well* so you understands. I knew as soon as it said "age 16 +12 months" what that meant. Thanks everyone much appreciated.
  9. Hi, I'm not sure if I said the question correctly. So I'm us citizen, my wife is a Philippines citizen. She worked in Romania for 2+ years and now we are applying for an 1-130 to the US. I can get her police clearance from Romanian, this just seems excessive if true.
  10. Thanks everyone. If anyone can clarify the police clearance question, that would be awesome. What I've read is, if my wife has lived anywhere for 12 months past the age of 16, she needs a police clearance from that country. We have lawyers in Romania and they said this can be done in about 30 minutes and forwarded to us in The Philippines. I'm just wondering if this is absolutely necessary though?
  11. Oh no, we are sufficient on the after portion. I got to the Philippines 12/4/21 and we've lived together since. We even have visa stamps showing we traveled to other countries together afterwards. My wife also makes sure we have photos on Facebook from anywhere we go, so that's a digital footprint going back almost 6 years now.
  12. We actually met way before the online marriage, about 2 years prior. We have proof of this from our Romanian IDs, pictures from there, a lease, fb posts with time stamps. I actually have another question? Since my wife was an OWF in Romanian, when we hit the NVC stage of the I-130, are they going to need a police clearance from her time in Romania? I've read different things and wanted to get some clarity. Thank you.
  13. Yes. It took about five months to secure a spousal Visa to the Philippines, but we have had a domicile ever since 12/21 We also lived together for two years in Romania. So 2 years unmarried and almost 3 married.
  14. I actually just realized out marriage license is also a marriage certificate lol. It literally says & marriage certificate.
  15. Hello everyone, I'm trying to move my wife and step-son to the US. I am a US citizen born and raised. I met my wife in Europe while working for the US government in Romania. To make a long story short, we like many others were separated during COVID and got married online. We originally planned to get married in Romania, but Romania does not have a Philippines Embassy and we were not allowed to leave Romania because of their Covid rules. Ok, so not to deviate to much from the information I'm trying to obtain here. We for legal purposes were married in Utah. I was in the US at the time and my wife was in the Philippines. Going through the I-130 they are talking about a marriage certificate, for the purposes of how my wife changed her spousal name to her married name. Now, we have a PSA marriage certificate in the Philippines and that allowed her to use her married name for her new Philippines passport. My question is this: Do we need a marriage certificate or is the PSA fine? I'm literally dumping every document I can think of into the I-130, so they can't have any excuses or ask for any sort of documentation. Any and all information would be very helpful, since this would give two people a better shot at life. Thank you.
