  1. My proof is the copy from the court record website, that I can print out.
  2. Hello, we are filling out the application for green card I-485. There is a part for Criminal Acts and Violations. Question 22: "Have you EVER been arrested, cited, charged, or permitted to participate in a diversion program (including pre-trial diversion, deferred prosecution, deferred adjudication, or any withheld adjudication), or detained for any reason by any law enforcement official in any country including but not limited to any U.S. immigration official or any official of the U.S. armed forces or U.S. Coast Guard or by a similar official of a country other than the United States?" My spouse had only 2 ticket citations. Speeding - dismissed Expired tag/registraion - paid $115 and immediately taken care of. Should we put YES/NO? And, if yes, how do we explain/proof?
  3. 3. Part 4 Here, it is asking to provide the last address at which you physically lived together. My partner is coming and staying for couple of weeks, as they study at the university in different state. Also, we went back to our home country and stayed there for about 20 days, does that count? "The beneficiary is in the United States and will apply for adjustment of status to that of a lawful permanent resident at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) office in:". In this part, should I put my hometown, this is the place where we are planning to live after a few month, once he is done with classes? I live in Philadelphia and they live in Phoenix. However, my partner is planning to move to my address after a month of filing the I-130?
  4. Hello, We are preparing to mail in my adjustment of status. I am an international student, with F-1 status. My wife is petitioning me. She started working as an independent contractor (1099) in October, and have made about $10,000 for the year of 2024, as she has never worked before, as she was attending school. It has been almost 6 months since she started and is expected to make more than $34,000 for the year of 2025, for tax purposes. Thus, my question is: Are we going to need a joint sponsor, or would it be fine, if we give the USCIS the 6 month pay stubs, along with tax transcripts and the copy of 1099?
  5. The instructions say that they have to have the same address as my wife, which is the case. Isn't like that?
  6. Yes, I know. However, my last address outside the US lies within the 5 year history. I am putting it in part 14. Additional information. Should I put it in its own section too, because it says "if not listed above"?
  7. Hello everyone, I am completing my application for I-485 and needed some guidance from those who have applied for the application or have knowledge in this area, with me being F-1 student. I have several questions for the application, which I will be listing below by part/item number: Part 1/Item 18 This part is asking for Current US Physical Address, Current Mailing Address, Prior Address, and Most Recent Address outside the US. I have All the addresses filled as needed. However, My recent address outside the US is within range of 5 years of address history. Would I be I be putting it in part 14. Additional information, as I already have a prior address filled, and not bother about Most Recent Address outside the US. Or, should I just put it in the Most Recent Address outside the US? 2. Part 4/Item 7 This part is asking for ALL of the employment and educational history for the last 5 years. I am currently attending college and not employed for some time. I know I should put the education first, would I need to put the unemployment as well in the Part 14. Additional Information. Also, should I also put the most recent employer/school outside of the united states in its box if it is within the last 5 years or I need to put it only in part 14. 3. Part 6/Item 8 My wife is living in another state, with her parents, as she is attending college. however, she is often here with me too as some of her classes are online. Would I be putting her parents address for her physical address. 4. Part 9/Item 1 to 5 Have you EVER been a member of, involved in, or in any way associated with any organization, association, fund, foundation, party, club, society, or similar group in the United States or in any other location in the world - I have been a president of an organization at my college for a year, will I putting that information in this part?
  8. I have created an online account with USCIS to file for AOS for my partner. In the pdf application of I-485, it is asking me to put "USCIS Online Account Number". Where do I find that number in my account with USCIS, or I will only have that number after filing a form online?
  9. A few confusions with I-130. Filling out the pdf file, as we will be sending it together with other documents, like I-485. I will list them all below, by part and item number. Part 2 - Item 11 It asks if the mailing address is the same as the physical address, which is YES. I have also lived at this address for more than 5 years, which is covered in the next section of the application. My question is: Can I write "Same as Mailing Address" in Box 12.a and then provide the residency dates in Box 13.a (Date From: 00/00/0000) and 13.b (Date To: PRESENT)? I am asking because there is no other place to enter the dates for my residency, and I am concerned about leaving that information out. 2. Part 2 - Items 42 to 49.b For the current employment, I have put my current and first job, where I have been working for about a year. As I said I have never had a job before that. So, am I supposed to leave boxes 46 to 49.b for "Employer 2" blank? Or, should I just put "Unemployed in box 46 and fill the 49.a with the date exactly 5 years before the day I sign the application? 3. Part 4 - Item 59-60 Here, it is asking to provide the last address at which you physically lived together. I have been visiting my partner for week or 2 almost every month, as he is attending college as F1. What would you suggest to put here? 4. Part 4 - Item 61 "The beneficiary is in the United States and will apply for adjustment of status to that of a lawful permanent resident at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) office in:". In this part, should I put my hometown, this is the place where we are planning to live after a few month, once he is done with classes?
  10. My wife is petitioning me for a green card, and we're working through the I-864 Affidavit of Support. We have several questions related to her income, tax filings, and household size. I’d really appreciate any guidance from those who have been through this process! General Questions: Part 5: Household SizeItems 3-6: For the sections that don’t apply (since we have no children or dependents, or any previously sponsored persons), should we enter 0 or leave the boxes blank? Also, we are thinking to add her parents as household members who can help my wife with sponsorship. This is because, my wife started doordashing full time and this is her job. Since she started late in 2024, she just about about $10,000, which is way off the $26,000. However, this year's income would be more than the required 125% of the poverty line. Would you still recommend to add her parents? In case if we add her parents, they have 3 dependent children, and have made about $43,000 last year, in the tax return. So, my question is: Would they count the total number of households as 4 or 7 (include their children). Because, if we have 7 people, then the total for the last year's combined income would still be $53,000, below $61,000 required. Part 6: Sponsor’s Employment and Income: Items 1-4: How should my wife’s gig work at DoorDash be listed? Employed? Self-employed? If her parents (household members) file two separate I-864A forms but file joint tax returns, should we report the same “Total Income” from their joint 1040 form on both I-864A forms? Item 12: Does USCIS consider current year (2025) income, or will they primarily look at last year’s (2024) tax return? Are we going to be ok with or without parents? And, If we have her parents, is it also going to be enough? One last question: Can I attach both the I-1040 (with all schedules) and the tax transcripts, or should I only submit one? Would really appreciate any insight! Thanks in advance for your help!
  11. Hi, I'd like to figure out if my partner's household member's income is sufficient but I'm a little confused on how to calculate the household size. The main sponsor, my partner, earned about $10,000, which is significantly less than $26,437 (for 2 of us). However, she is living with her parents, thus we can use her parents income and add it to hers. Her parents (2) have three dependent children (3), with one being over 18. So in our I-864, we listed the main sponsor(1), the household members (2), and me(1), intending immigrant. 's no option to put household member's dependents on either the I-864 or I-864A. My confusion and question: is our household size 4 members or 7?
