Our Story
I never had to leave home!!!! About two years ago, while visiting my parents, their next door neighbor and best friend of over 20 years stopped by to say hello. While he was there he told me he was going to take me to Peru and introduce me to his neice. Now, this man has known me since I was a teenager, and has had a front row seat for all of my follies. So this statement really took me by surprise. Well, about a year went by and the subject was never brought up again. Then one weekend when I was again visiting on a Sunday morning he came to the front yard yelling for me to come outside. When I opened the door he shoved his cell phone into my chest and said, "Here, her name is Betty", and walked away. After the initial shock and embarassment subsided we were able to exchange e-mails, and agreed to speak again. Well, if you were to ask me then if I thought love would blossom I would have had to laugh. But over the next several months of communication (E-mail, IM, Video-Calls), we came to the conclusion that we were meant for each other. We were able to do our first document chase and flew to Peru where we were married on Ocober 5th, 2007. Since that time we have been navigating the cumbersome immigration process, and doing our best to keep our flame burning bright. I have been back twice since October, but it is never for long enough and we are looking forward to the day when we will finally be together forever.
