  1. I’m updating this for the next person who has a similar question. We ended up getting a new police certificate, specifically for immigration to the U.S. It came in a booklet with a Chinese police certificate, translation, certification of translation (in Chinese) and translation of certification (in English); four pages in total. This was accepted by the NVC without issue. We used https://www.beijingesc.com/. We still have friends in Beijing, but wanted to go with a company that had done this before. Also, we didn’t want to deal with the hassle of instructing friends through all the steps. It’s annoying having to pay so much for a document, but the company was quick, responsive and professional. I would recommend them. Thanks for the help everyone. We were DQ’d the same day the police certificate was accepted and received our IL for four days later with an interview in early May. Good luck everyone!
  2. Has anyone submitted a foreign language police report? What did you upload? Just the original and a translation?
  3. I’ll look at this option as well. Thanks.
  4. It won’t expire if you’re not returning to the country where it was issued. She received hers in summer ‘22. So it’s still valid. Hopefully a new one won’t be needed because getting a police clearance from China is a huge, expensive hassle. But I may look into that. Thanks.
  5. It was translated and certified by the Beijing notary office. That translation comes in a booklet with the original Chinese. Are you saying get a separate translation of the Chinese?
  6. She moved away from China in 2022 and has never returned. Since she has never gone back, we assumed her police clearance is still valid based on the requirements. We’re also wondering if we need another translator to certify the translation from the Chinese government is accurate. The police clearance is official, stamped and translated by the Beijing government.
  7. My wife’s Chinese police certificate keeps getting denied when submitted to the NVC for either missing a doc or being invalid. When she moved away from China a few years ago, she received a certificate of no criminal record. It comes in a booklet with a cover page, Chinese page with a stamp and a translation page. We’re not sure what we’re missing. This is the official translation. We went as far as having the front page translated as well, just in case that was an issue, and it was denied twice. If anyone has successfully had their Chinese police certificate approved, please let me know what you submitted. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
