First of all, I truly appreciate all the support and advice from everyone. I’m sorry to hear that @Don Godwin is going through a similar situation. It feels like a nightmare. When I had a high-paying job, things were stable. However, after being laid off, collecting unemployment for a few months, and then finding a lower-paying job, everything changed. I am grateful for the advice about switching my I-751 from a joint to a divorce waiver or abuse waiver. However, I realize I did not clearly explain my N-400 filing situation, which may have caused some confusion. I filed my N-400 based on "Military service during a period of hostilities." I served the country but was discharged during training due to a medical issue. The military's legal team helped me file the N-400 and explained that my I-751 became irrelevant once I applied for naturalization. The current military-based N-400 does not require an approved I-751 because military N-400 applications do not depend on lawful permanent residency (LPR) status. The minimum requirement to join the military is LPR (including Conditional Permanent Residence, CPR), but non-citizens and non-LPRs can no longer enlist. My N-400, filed based on military service, waives general naturalization requirements, including five years of residency, time spent outside the U.S., and marriage conditions. According to USCIS: "F. Conditional Permanent Residence and Naturalization during Hostilities: If the applicant is a conditional permanent resident and is eligible to naturalize on the basis of military service during hostilities without being an LPR based on being in the United States during enlistment or induction, the applicant is not required to file or have an approved Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence (Form I-751) before his or her Application for Naturalization (Form N-400) may be approved." Given this guidance, I decided not to pursue the I-751 further as it can only provide the LPR benefit. Although I could potentially use VAWA for my pending I-751 to secure LPR status, the process for I-751 will take much longer than the N-400 approval. My N-400 receipt already provides a two-year extension to my current green card, so I’m not concerned about my I-751. The legal team informed me that, even in the extreme case where my I-751 is withdrawn or denied, my N-400 application can still proceed as long as I maintain good moral character for at least one year prior to my N-400 interview. Since the filing rule for my N-400 is based on my military service rather than marital status, the two processes can proceed independently. However, I believe my situation is rare and may not apply to others dealing with violence with USC spouse in their marriages. Unfortunately, when I returned home due to my medical issues, my spouse began abusing me just in a week, and the violence continued. Looking ahead, once my N-400 is approved, I plan to apply as a military officer and start a new chapter in my life. Thanks again to everyone for your advice and support. I truly appreciate it.

Traveling on Extension Letter?
ultramantiga replied to Derwood's topic in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion
I travelled through land board multiple times with expired GC and extension letter at Nogales AZ, no issue. They just checked if the case is active -
Life is not easy for people like me who hold Conditional Permanent Resident status but the spouse is using it for violence and threatening. My story is complicated, but I will simplify it here. I initially filed my I-751 with my spouse on January 25. However, my spouse began to subject me to violence and threats. On April 16, I filed my N-400 application for naturalization. Last week, my spouse informed me that she had filed for divorce and warned me that I would face trouble in the United States. Despite her threats, I no longer care. After I lost my job, my spouse and her mother became increasingly impatient and angry with me. Even so, we still filed the I-751 together on January 14 with a fee waiver. In February, an incident occurred where my spouse’s mother threw a glass bottle at me. My spouse called the police, falsely accusing me of being the one who threw the bottle and of having guns that could harm them. When the officers arrived, I was handcuffed in my room while they investigated. Fortunately, a witness told the officers the truth, and I was immediately released from the handcuffed. Regarding the alleged weapons, the truth is that my spouse’s mother stored the guns, and despite my repeated requests, she refused to tell me where they were. Because I could not access my own firearm, I was robbed while attempting to sell an iPhone on Facebook Marketplace on November as a way to earn some income after being laid off (lucky I chose bank for selling so the one of the criminals was caught and in jail). Although the police found no evidence of violence, my spouse went to court and used false statements to obtain an Order of Protection (OOP) against me. This order prohibited me from living with my daughter and my two dogs, and I was forced to leave my home, even though I am the one paying the mortgage (which is solely in my name). After being served with the OOP on Saturday , I stayed at a motel and went to court the following Monday to challenge it. At the hearing on Thursday, I won the case. The judge dismissed the OOP, stating that it had been granted based on false statements. The judge further emphasized that an OOP should not be used as a weapon to prevent me from staying with my daughter or in my home. So the OOP only valid for 5 days. However, due to the OOP, my Global Entry was revoked, I applied reconsideration and still waiting for it. The next day after the OOP was dismissed, I discovered that the savings in our joint bank account had been emptied by my spouse, leaving me in financial distress. My spouse told me she would file for divorce and threatened to withdraw our I-751 petition, saying this would cause me to be deported. After discussions between my parents and my spouse’s parents, the divorce proceedings were temporarily halted because of our daughter. In March, I started a new job and moved out of state. Unfortunately, due to a medical condition, I had to return home in April. This enraged my spouse and her mother again. Upon my return, my spouse’s aggressive behavior escalated. She threw an iPhone box at me, hurled a hair stick at our daughter (leaving a scratch), and continued to exhibit violent outbursts. A neighbor called the police, but I downplayed the situation, saying no one was hurt. The officers warned and educated my spouse before leaving. Ten days later, her aggression intensified, and she physically attacked me. This time, I called the police. However, I softened when speaking to the officers because I did not want the mother of my daughter to end up in jail. The officers asked my spouse to leave the house temporarily to calm down. Now, my spouse is actively pursuing a divorce, threatening me again with the I-751, and claiming I will be deported. But having filed my N-400 for naturalization, I am no longer intimidated by these threats. I am currently focused on taking care of my daughter, as my spouse has left the house, and I am preparing to deal with the divorce process. Well, now I am just waiting for the N-400 interview to be a citizen, and I will leave the immigration and the marriage nightmare.

Cuz some states like AZ, even though you are a GC holder, they only give you the date to expiration date on the GC card for non real ID DL, CA has really friendly policy for immigrants -

It really depends on the state policy and the officer who is processing the driver license. Several years ago from what I know In CA they did not care and always release full term DL for GC holder, even some i485 EAD holder but not sure about the new real ID policy due to move out. For AZ, I just used print out version without any issue to extend my non real ID DL for 48 months, they did not run SAVE for non real ID DL in AZ, only for real ID -

Well, just like what you mentioned on the USCIS rule, if it is not DUI or no actual arrest and finally a fine lower than 500 then you will be good, you can just write a note on the last page, to mention you have a pending criminal traffic ticket which is just a speed ticket for some states, almost every traffic ticket (speed red light etc) is criminal, for example, Texas. In AZ, part of the traffic tickets are criminal. In CA, none of the serious traffic tickets (speed, stop sign etc) are criminal, all civil). So USCIS uses the DUI, fines, and actual arrest to determine if it is really a criminal and they need the document or not , otherwise almost every applicant who are in Texas have to mark they have criminals… almost everyone will receive a ticket in the life lol the reason I know is that I received a criminal traffic speed ticket in AZ, I could not use driving school to dismissal it, but the Judge could determine in his or her favor that I could take driving school, or downgrade to civil level, or keep the criminal traffic. Lucky for me, as my first time, Judge gave me a chance to downgrade it to civil and driving school opportunity, so I could mark No for that I751 question as the final result was driving school to dismissal without any opportunity. I hope my story can make you feel better, no worry about it, USCIS does not consider a criminal traffic ticket as a real criminal, and I was able to found a USCIS file which mentioned that a criminal speed ticket was still under normal traffic tickets (I did the research when I received that criminal ticket, however I could not find that USCIS file anymore lol)

No any other documents like bills bank statements deed etc. However they saved them in the system, the name of my I912 is part 1, photos are part 7, part 2-6 are just hidden in my portal even thought they are there -

Just some DPs from me to use G-1145, I have the record: 2018 I-765 - Google Voice, no notification; 2020 I-765 - Red Pocket (T-Mobile MVNO), none; 2022 I-765 - Visible (Verizon MVNO) Received notification; 2022 I-485 - Google Voice, none; 2023 I-131 for travel document, US re-entry permit - T-Mobile, received; 2025 I-751 - T-Mobile, received. It seems like the virtual landline providers, like Google Voice, cannot receive the notification, MVNO and direct provider are half-half, but still a good try if no online account! -

Live in Phoenix, a funny story for you all: I went to the USCIS UPS DHL FedEx physical location to try to drop off the package (pre-paid UPS label on the package), saw the DHL guy was delivering the international I751 packages to the dock and the mail room guy was signing and moving the packages, I talked to the mail room guy, he talked to USCIS office in the building if he could accept personal drop off and confirmed with me that USCIS wanted tracking info, even I was under their office they could not accept it lol. Finally I gave to the UPS truck man who was there later, but he told me even he was on the delivery address he still needed to send the whole package to the processing center and delivery tomorrow. He delivered next day, and I spent 6 bucks for UPS ground shipping (for a 3 feet distance shipping XDDD) by using cheap UPS label service online websites lol BTW, I recommend you all use FedEx or UPS, they will deliver to the USCIS office directly, so the case can be processed faster than USPS. However, USPS is for budget option Timeline: I-751 with I-912 fee waiver, G-1145 attached but no notification 01/13 - shipped 01/14 - delivered (Phoenix, AZ) 01/27 - received USCIS "take an action on your case" email, checked USCIS online and the case was added to my USCIS account, it means fee waiver was approved so they processed the I751, the case received date was 01/14 which was the delivery date, no G1145 text or email notification, the online documents (NOA, extension, etc.) are not available yet
