  1. Hey guys, Can you start work with a i-485 approval letter? I have a SSN saying 'Valid for work only with DHS authorization'. i485 approval means I am a legal resident now, so I presume I can apply for jobs and if I get hired, legally start work before the physical card arrives? Or do I need to wait for GC, go to SS office and get a new SSN card without that statement at the top. Unsure of when to start applying for work/ accept work- once GC arrives or in the meantime Would appreciate your insights. Thank you
  2. Thank you so much for your reply, it was very helpful for me to understand the lay of the land. I had a look at the expedite criteria and I don't those criteria apply to me currently so i may have to drop that avenue. I submitted all aos forms april 2024 (10months waiting) yes concurrent filing for EAD. My best bet is perhaps getting a senator letting them know my case is outside of regular processing times, asking them to inquire and hopefully that revives the case. As well as calling the service line and getting through to someone who can pull up the case perhaps. Perhaps another avenue is to get a work offer - does anyone know what the paperwork avenue for this is? Should I go looking for people who would be willing to employ me and write a letter of support to fast track this? Thank you
  3. In particular, does it cost extra to expedite it? or can the congress person just do it for you? Can you get it expedited on the grounds that it sits outside of regular processing times or do you need to cite financial / personal reasons ?
  4. Hey there, Can I get some other opinions on what I should do please? Lodged AOS for K1 in April 2024, been 10months and now outside of the 80% of cases window. Am really keen to work so am waiting on that employment auth!! Will contact the congress person- are there specific things I need to mention? Our K1 took longer than others too- will this make a difference? Our finances could do with me working soon (is this worth mentioning?) and I'm sure it will be mutually beneficial- to have people working and contributing. is calling or emailing better ? Thanks all!!
  5. Trump has removed this requirement. Heads up to all who thought this was necessary. Good luck
  6. Yes. Old user, for AOS purposes - only the first round of hep b is necessary am I right? I did the first round a year ago and I'm wondering if I should do the second round anyway to mark complete. It's only the third that will be missing but it's not necessary from what I've read.
  7. Hi Andy, I'm not sure about hand delivering it! I'd just priority express it and track it until it arrives. What vaccinations did her RFE specify?! It's also vague what I need! She got an RFE even though the doc marked "complete" ??
  8. am wondering thats risking an RFE because that booster shot isnt marked off. Pls let me know!
  9. Hey ya'll. Have you seen 2nd RFE's given out for the i485- vacs sheet? Do these exist? would like to know incase I get anything wrong thanks Also, can anyone enlighten me on what happens if the 485 gets denied?
  10. For AOS vacs sheet, most up to date shot- does this count? Thank you!
  11. Heya, YES it was marked "K applicant voluntarily completed requirements" And for K applicants they dont need the i693... I'm wondering if it would be worth ONLY submitting the updated vacs sheet. But then again, the screenshot above says to submit i693... i don't know! Any help would be so nice!
  12. Hi there, I have attached the RFE instructions for my K1 AOS. It is asking for a completed vaccination worksheet. I am wondering if I need to redo an entire medical exam including the chest xray? "You must provide a completed I693 from a designated civil surgeon with a completed vaccination record section". ........skipping a few lines "In addition, the civil surgeon must ensure that all parts of the I-693 were properly completed." I am dreading having to fork out for the full exam, It's already so costly not working while waiting for this. Also, I am reluctant to get another X-ray when I am completely medically fine. I am also wondering why I got sent this RFE- I have one round of each required V completed, including both Cvd shots... I suspect a typo that the doc made on the Hep B entering in "F" for "Flu vacs not available" when she should entered "B" - insufficient time interval to complete series" and perhaps needing a third Cvd shot maybe? I can't get straight info on how many Cvd shots we need at the moment. Some advice would be so welcome thank you.
