    Hello, Both me and my wife's Green Card is expiring in another 6 moths. We are now considering to apply for citizenship, however, not sure if we need to first get the GC extended prior to applying for citizenship? What if we directly apply for citizenship now and this process takes longer than 6 months? Do they give some sort of evidence that I can use for employment status and international travel use if I apply for citizenship? Please advise.
