  1. I see, and thanks for further clarification. If I may ask: did you already got your naturalization done? As you mentioned you "N-400 completed online also is missing details", how did you handle it at the time of interview?
  2. This is so much useful information. Yes, we completed 5 years before filing N400. I called USCIS earlier today, and explained the scenario, and they suggested if Section 5: Spouse Details can be updated by manually printing a form and signing it and uploading as an additional evidence along with a letter of explanation. However, based on what you described, it might not be needed if both of our cases are treated separately. I plan to call them again tomorrow to ask and validate. Do you think that makes sense?
  3. Hello, I filled N400 form for my wife and I in Dec 2024, and we received separate interview appointments in March. We just observed that in each of our forms, the Spouse details are not showing for some reason. My wife still uses her maiden name on all documents, could this be reason separate interview appointments or is it because since spouse details were not noted, they treated both application separately on their own and hence interviews scheduled on different dates? Question: 1. Is this a problem at all? 2. Is there a way to correct this information in N400 form either now (online) or on the day of interview? 3. Does USCIS help on such matters before the interview? Thank you
  4. Hello, I'm a permanent resident for past 9.5 years and recently applied for naturalization. My interview is being scheduled and I see one of the requirements is to provide an evidence of Selective Service Registration. I came to this country when I was 30 years old, and got green card at age of 35. I have not yet registered and when I try this, it only allows between the age of 18 to 26. Question: 1. How do I get the evidence of Selective Service Registration? 2. If it compulsory for naturalization for case like me? 3. What are the ways to get it and what if once doesn't have it? Please advise. Thank you
  5. Thank you for your response. Do you know typically how long it will take to receive the extension notice? I just want to ensure I get it before my GC expires in May next year.
  6. Hello, Here's my scenario: 1. My current GC validity expires in May. 2. I applied for USC last week after completing about 9.5 yrs in GC. 3. I got a notice that fingerprint / biometric would not be needed since they are going to reuse from earlier application. My Questions: 1. Do I need to separately file for GC extension as well? 2. If answer to #1 is No, then when can I expect GC extension notice (I read that upon USC application, they auto-extend GC by 24 months)/ Thanks in advance.
  7. I have completed 9 years of residency in the USA on a green card and am now planning to apply for citizenship. I have started filling out the online N-400 (US naturalization) application form, but I have encountered a dilemma regarding the question under family/child information. It asks, "Are you providing support for your child?" Whether I answer yes or no, the application prompts me to provide evidence for child and spousal support. My wife and son are staying with me, and my wife is green card holder and son is US born citizen. Someone mentioned that this requirement applies only in cases of divorce. Should I answer Yes or No in my case? I would greatly appreciate your input and guidance on how to proceed further.
  8. Hello, Both me and my wife's Green Card is expiring in another 6 moths. We are now considering to apply for citizenship, however, not sure if we need to first get the GC extended prior to applying for citizenship? What if we directly apply for citizenship now and this process takes longer than 6 months? Do they give some sort of evidence that I can use for employment status and international travel use if I apply for citizenship? Please advise.
