  1. Hey all, we've received our interview letter, but it requests some stuff we don't have-- and don't even know how to get. Mainly, it asks for an "Aramex (courier) document delivery confirmation page", which we don't have. We've filled out the DS-160 and have the confirmation page, and we have everything filled out in usvisascheduling (we've been waiting at the "No Slots Available" for a couple weeks now). That being said, we only just realized that we don't have the 'courier confirmation page', whatever that is. In the videos and guides we've looked up for K-1 visas, no one has ever mentioned them. What is the courier confirmation page for? Do we even need it? Any advice would be great, thank you.
  2. Gotcha, makes sense. And last question (for now) then: once you were able to schedule the appointment, did you run into ‘No Slots Available’ or was it smooth sailing from there? (Not including the hospital screwing up y’all’s documents, which I’m so sorry to hear about; must’ve been a nightmare! 😖) I hear Malaysia’s embassy is normally easy to schedule appointments with time-wise (at least compared to other countries), but we’ve gotten nervous over the past few weeks seeing so many posts from other consulates about “playing the slots” for months and months to schedule an interview.
  3. That’s what we’ve been trying for now and will likely continue to do, unless we get the email and it says otherwise (fingers crossed it’s soon either way 😅). We’ve got this part at least!! That’s the only thing we’re confident about at the moment :’)
  4. Hi! Thank you for replying, glad a fellow Malaysian filer found the post! Out of curiosity, did you all try to schedule an interview before getting the email? Aka, have any idea if we’re seeing the right thing on usvisascheduling? Or should we not have been able to even make an account on usvisascheduling until they cleared all our stuff?
  5. My fiancee and I are applying through the embassy in Malaysia— I know it’s different for every embassy, but I figured I’d ask here since we had such a confusing experience and I’m hoping for a general answer. We’ve seen on multiple websites that it depends on your embassy whether you need a Welcome Letter or if you can just schedule once the CEAC status is “ready.” We tried to go ahead and schedule at “Ready” (to see if it’d even let us) and were met with the dreaded “No Slots Available.” After trying and failing for almost a week, and not receiving an interview letter/welcome letter that whole time, we called the embassy. The woman on the phone said that we didn’t need to wait for a welcome letter, we could go ahead and apply, and if it said “No Slots Available” to just keep trying. We asked whether the welcome letter would show up in physical mail or email, even if we don’t need it, and she said we wouldn’t be receiving one at all so don’t expect one. Well another 4-5 days pass with no slots open still, so we call the embassy again to double check if we really won’t receive a welcome letter, and how long we should expect to wait for a slot to open. This other person says we WILL get a letter, and that’s why we can’t schedule an appointment yet— we’ll need the letter first. The letter will arrive by email and should come within 2 weeks of the “Ready” status. Now we don’t know what to believe. Has anyone had a similar experience? Especially with the US Consulate in Malaysia, but anywhere else too? Main question is if the “No Slots Available” can be at fault of us not having a welcome letter, but just generally about the experience too. Thanks for the help in advance!!
  6. Anyone schedule their interview yet? Since we got the "Ready" status we went ahead and filled out an application to schedule a visa appointment but the website says "no slots available." Not sure if anyone else has run into this issue and if so, what we should do about it. Or more accurately, seeing a lot of people online with the same issue but it's usually B1/B2/H1-B/etc applications that run into the issue, not usually K1 visas. Any insights? Thanks!
  7. Thank you both for the well wishes!! To update my status for anyone interested/looking into theirs: I sent another PI Oct 23, then received our tracking number Oct 30. As of today (Oct 31), we just received the FTP from the NVC and our CEAC status has changed to "In Transit." It's my understanding that the NVC only sends out the visa packets every two weeks (every other Tuesday), so if that's true then our case would actually be sent out November 4th. Curious to see what'll happen and I'll definitely update here if that seems to end up the case. Best wishes for everyone who hasn't received their numbers yet, I'm sure it's coming!! Hope we all get our fiance's here very soon!!!
  8. Lucky son of a gun! We submitted an inquiry October 15th and just got a reply yesterday that the NVC “recently received your petition” but it’s “waiting for data entry into our systems”… aka they have it but still no status updates 😭😭 Happy for you though!! Hoping this means we get our case number soon too! (…though I’m already tempted to send another inquiry just to maybe get it faster 😅)
  9. I changed my first and middle name in 2018 for personal reasons. I decided to use my passport as proof of US citizenship, since it has my updated name, and I never updated my birth certificate. I included my old name in the "other names used" section of my I-129F form, and have both the petition and the court order for my legal name change. Do I need to submit both the "petition for legal name change" along with the "court order for legal name change"? Or is just the second one fine? It seems like an obvious question, that only the court order would be fine, but I recall bringing both the petition and the court order to the DMV and other government agencies. I can't recall whether both were actually necessary. If possible, I don't want to include the petition as it has a blank line for "attorney's name" (I didnt have to appear in court), and a circle next to it as if there's missing information. Just hoping this is a silly question and the court order alone will be fine. Thanks in advance!
  10. Thanks for your detailed answer, appreciate the guidance! Quick follow up question considering the online meeting-- my partner and I initially met through social media, but have been keeping up with each other on discord since then. We don't plan to use our call logs/chat logs as primary evidence, but I similarly figure I'll have to explain a little bit beyond the norm regarding sending them any discord logs (ie, "discord is a communication platform primarily used for gaming with friends," or something similar). How did you go about explaining meeting via xbox gaming? Or was that a little different, since you didn't exactly include evidence of you guys voice chatting via xbox live? We've only been on two trips to see each other, since we have some cultural/financial restraints regarding trips for visiting. We'll use all the best pics we have from those two meetings, but I wanted to include some padding via call logs from discord. Just was wondering if you (or anyone else reading, I suppose!) had any extra tips for that kind of thing? Thanks again 😁
  11. @Edward and Jaycel Thank you so much for all the detailed info! I really appreciate it, especially the link to consulate reviews for Malaysia. Super duper helpful, and makes me feel more secure in including a lot of evidence despite some other posts I've seen acting like it's a big waste of time. I especially appreciate the info coming from a couple with a beneficiary in the Philippines, as I imagine the level of scrutiny for a Filipino would be similar to the scrutiny for a Malaysian 😅 Thanks so much again! @Rachel n Tyler@Sam Burns@Sarge2155 Thank you guys for the tips 😄 It was nice to imagine for a little bit that I might not have to throw a crazy amount of evidence at uscis, but in reality we'll have to do so at some point either way, so may as well hit the ground running! I appreciate knowing everyone sends different amounts but still plenty of viable evidence. If anything, I now feel much more secure in my initial plan to send them a little bit overkill, haha. Thank you all!!
  12. Ok, so I know this question has been asked several times but I always see a myriad of answers. A lot of answers even include that it depends on what country you're coming from, and if it's a high-fraud country. My beneficiary is from Malaysia, so the embassy in KL. I haven't really heard anyone talking about it, and I don't know if they're known for "scams" or are a notoriously picky embassy or anything like that. In every list and guide I've looked at for the longest time (including the guides on VJ), I've seen instructions for proof of relationship and how much to put/what to put/etc. But considering the i-129F doesn't ask for any, and even only asks for proof of the one trip, should we put any at all? In short: Should my fiance and I include proof of relationship in our i-129F beyond the proof of meeting within the last two years? I mostly see people recommending it nowadays in order to front load their application and make the consulate interview easier. Is this accurate, or would we just be slowing down the initial review process even more? Also, related question: what does the i-129F mean in part 2, question 54 by "describe the circumstances under which you met"? Do they mean how we met in the first place, or do they mean a short description of how we met in person for the first time? How much (and in what part; cover letter, letter of intent, part 54) do we need to explain about our relationship's timeline/story overall? We want to be concise, but not so much so that we get an RFE of course. Thanks so much in advance for y'all's help!!
