Hello everyone, I am planning to petition my mom in the Philippines once i become a US citizen, however, she don’t want to use her husband’s last name but rather her maiden name.They separated long time ago(more than decades) and her husband died last month. In national ID, she is using her maiden name but the civil status is widowed. Should we change it to single status? Or just remain in widowed status? Any idea how and what are the processes I need to do before the petition? Thank you in advance.
