Hi, I will be filling out form DS-260 soon once my payments clear. I have been reading about what is needed when filling out DS-260 and I am confused on the Family Information: Parents section for my step daughter.
First of all, my wife and step daughter are from Mexico.
My wife became pregnant while she was in a relationship with the biological father of my stepdaughter. However, when she became pregnant he left to the US and has not had any form of contact with her or my stepdaughter for the past 5 years. (she is 5 and has never met her biological dad)
My stepdaughters birth certificate only has her moms information, fathers section is blank.
My wife was able to get both passports for herself and my stepdaughter recently without any form/document indicating that she has full custody of her besides her birth certificate.
On form DS-260, do we have to fill out the biological fathers information? My wife only knows his name, she does not know date of birth or anything else.
Or do we just leave that section as unknown?
If we include his name, how will it affect us? and if we don't would it make a difference?
