  1. The previous case was facilitated by IOM (International Organization for Migration), and it was through the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP).
  2. I, M26 & U.S. Citizen, was reaching out to the community here regarding my girlfriend's immigration to the U.S. and we're now seeking advice on the best path forward. Her story began with a promising US immigrant visa application that had progressed to its final stages. She was on the brink of scheduling her IOM flights, with her case status still showing as "in progress." However, fate intervened when an opportunity to migrate to Canada presented itself. Seizing this chance, she made the move to Canada and has since become a permanent resident there. While we're grateful for this opportunity, we want her to move here to the States and to start living together. We now find ourselves at a crossroads, trying to determine the most efficient way for her to move to the States. I had several key questions: Firstly, we're curious about the fastest route for her to immigrate to the US, given her current status as a Canadian permanent resident. We're also wondering if it's possible to leverage her existing US immigrant visa case, which was so close to completion. Additionally, we're considering our options for filing a K-1 (fiancée) or CR-1 (spouse) visa and are concerned about how her previous immigrant case might impact these new applications. We understand that immigration laws and processes are complex and ever-changing, which is why we're reaching out to the community for guidance. Has anyone navigated a similar situation? What pitfalls should we be aware of? Are there any strategies or insights that could help expedite her move to the United States? Your experiences, advice, and knowledge would be invaluable to us as we chart our course through these intricate immigration waters. We would like to make informed decisions and are open to all suggestions that could help reunite us in the USA.
