OperatorACP's Achievements

  1. Hey everyone. Recently I've been thinking about requesting a Section 212 (e) waiver based on a No Objection Statement. I come from a very small country in South America (Paraguay) and getting the NOS from the consulate shouldn't be an issue at all. I actually started contacting them today and the response was incredibly quick. Some data about my case before my questions: Completed successfully 3 J1 Work & Travel programs that were NOT subjected to the 2 year home residency requirement. Currently doing a J1 Internship in Hospitality that IS subjected to the 2 year home residency requirement. My program sponsor for my current J1 is called CIEE (private company) and the entirety of the program cost + embassy fees were paid by my own pocket. Currently about to start the thesis portion of my Bachelor's degree in International Relations to eventually graduate while in the US. Now the fun part: For the NOS to work and my package to the DOS can go through do I have to have employment or education pre-approved after my J1 or could I use as an argument that I might eventually plan on pursuing employment/education/permanent residency in the US. What do you think is the waiting period for my specific case (speculate). Any insight/tips/advice is much appreciated. Thank you! A.
