Thank you @powerpuff for handling this, sorry, I'm new to the forum.
I'm not sure if for an AOS from g-4 visa to Green Card based on being the parent of a US citizen if form I-566 is required by USCIS in this case. May be it is not required...
- The DOS website, indicate: " Adjustments to immigrant status: The Diplomatic Liaison Division and the U.S. Mission to the UN do not endorse I-566 forms for individuals requesting adjustment to immigrant status. Contact the USCIS office that is responsible for the U.S. state where you reside to request adjustment to immigrant status."
- The USCIS website indicates: I-566, Interagency Record of Request -- A, G or NATO Dependent Employment Authorization or Change/Adjustment to/from A, G or NATO Status
Use Form I-566 as part of the process to request various immigration benefits that may be available to:
An eligible dependent of an A, G, or NATO nonimmigrant requesting employment authorization;
An A, G, or NATO nonimmigrant requesting a change to another nonimmigrant status;
A nonimmigrant in another status who has been offered a position that requires reclassification as an A, G, or NATO nonimmigrant, and any dependents in another nonimmigrant status; or
An A, G, or NATO nonimmigrant requesting adjustment to lawful permanent resident status.
Complete and submit this form to your diplomatic mission or international organization along with your request for employment authorization, change of status, or adjustment of status.
It is not clear what to do in this particular case. Is it that it may not be required to submit form I-566?
