I got the visa issued on Nov. 14th after both the senator's and the congressman's inquiries. The consulate released my passport on the same day. However, the strike started at 12:00 AM on Nov. 15th. So my passport is stuck in some post office. I will miss my flight to the U.S tomorrow night. My timeline as the following: Aug. 2022 submitted the application July 2023 the petition approved Sept. 2023 DQed Jan. 31st 2024 Interviewed. At the interview, the officer told me that they needed to have additional background check on me and I didn't need to submit any documents. the process would take several weeks. May 26 after the first congressperson's inquiry, the consulate gave me DS-5535. I submitted it on May 28th. Before the congressperson's inquiry, we sent the emails twice to the consulate and they all came back with the standard responses without asking for any documents. I still don't understand why I was given ds-5535 almost 4 months after the interview and the congressperson's inquiry. note: I didn't miss any documentation for a normal process. luckily we bought a house in another state and my husband moved to the new place. Then we got a new congressman and his office started to push the consulate to process my case. After multiple inquires, on Oct. 1st, the congressman's office forwarded the consulate's request for the second medical, the passport and the pictures. Medical done on Oct. 8th and got the confirmation of the submission on Oct. 22nd Passport delivered on Oct. 15th. Nov. 14th issued.

any update on your case? I am wondering what the consulate replied to you on the confirmation of document receival. I got a response from them today on it. However, it pretty much resembles what I received right after they put me in AP. I am wondering if my case is back to square one. 'We acknowledge receipt of the documents provided. This case was refused under section 221(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, and is currently under administrative processing. As soon as the administrative processing is complete, the Visa Unit will advise of the next steps if anything else is needed to complete processing the case. While we cannot predict when the processing of your visa will be completed, please be assured that the Consulate and the State Department are aware of your concerns and will contact you as soon as the processing is complete.'

I got the similar response after the congressman's inquiry today. My case is IR1 and I had the interview in January 2024. Early October I got the request from the consulate for the second medical and the passport and submitted them on Oct. 15th. I am wondering if anybody received the similar response from the consulate in a similar situation of mine? "We acknowledge receipt of the documents provided. We hope that this information is helpful in replying to your constituent's inquiry."

I used their courier service. You have to register the service first . if you received the request from them, you should receive an instruction about it. I remember a link attached in the email navigating me to produce a courier service certificate. this is the address in my certificate Service Center: 100-1134 Rue Sainte-Catherine O, MONTRÉAL, QC Québec H3B 1H4, CA

so you did your medical on Oct. 15th, wasn't it? I did mine on Oct. 8th in Dr. Lyndon's office and he told me that the embassy usually was fast. but until Oct. 18th (Friday), my case still hasn't been opened. From this forum, I never heard anyone had to wait for the embassy to reopen the case to have their medical submitted.

an unsolicited update is a passive update without any enquiries sent from the applicants, which implicates that the embassy is actively working on your case. an unsolicited update is a passive update without any enquiries sent from the applicants, which implicates that the embassy is actively working on your case.

After long waiting, I got the request from Montreal embassy for the second medical and passport on Oct. 2nd. I had my physical done on Oct. 8th and the doctor said that he would email the embassy to re-activate my case on the same day. However, until today, per the doctor's office, the embassy still has not reactivated my case yet so that the medical report wont be able to be submitted. I haven't seen that anyone said they were waiting for the case reopen in this forum. Does anyone know anything about the process?
