  1. try to contact both the congressman and the senator to push it along. I think that it helps.
  2. with CUPW on strike, what courier did they use to mail back your passport?
  3. I got the visa issued on Nov. 14th after both the senator's and the congressman's inquiries. The consulate released my passport on the same day. However, the strike started at 12:00 AM on Nov. 15th. So my passport is stuck in some post office. I will miss my flight to the U.S tomorrow night. My timeline as the following: Aug. 2022 submitted the application July 2023 the petition approved Sept. 2023 DQed Jan. 31st 2024 Interviewed. At the interview, the officer told me that they needed to have additional background check on me and I didn't need to submit any documents. the process would take several weeks. May 26 after the first congressperson's inquiry, the consulate gave me DS-5535. I submitted it on May 28th. Before the congressperson's inquiry, we sent the emails twice to the consulate and they all came back with the standard responses without asking for any documents. I still don't understand why I was given ds-5535 almost 4 months after the interview and the congressperson's inquiry. note: I didn't miss any documentation for a normal process. luckily we bought a house in another state and my husband moved to the new place. Then we got a new congressman and his office started to push the consulate to process my case. After multiple inquires, on Oct. 1st, the congressman's office forwarded the consulate's request for the second medical, the passport and the pictures. Medical done on Oct. 8th and got the confirmation of the submission on Oct. 22nd Passport delivered on Oct. 15th. Nov. 14th issued.
  4. congratulations! I saw a few people got their visas today. but unfortunately my case is still refused. I am wondering how you could connect to your immigration officer directly? also is the officer interviewing a visa applicant responsible for this case forever?
  5. any update on your case? I am wondering what the consulate replied to you on the confirmation of document receival. I got a response from them today on it. However, it pretty much resembles what I received right after they put me in AP. I am wondering if my case is back to square one. 'We acknowledge receipt of the documents provided. This case was refused under section 221(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, and is currently under administrative processing. As soon as the administrative processing is complete, the Visa Unit will advise of the next steps if anything else is needed to complete processing the case. While we cannot predict when the processing of your visa will be completed, please be assured that the Consulate and the State Department are aware of your concerns and will contact you as soon as the processing is complete.'
  6. I got the similar response after the congressman's inquiry today. My case is IR1 and I had the interview in January 2024. Early October I got the request from the consulate for the second medical and the passport and submitted them on Oct. 15th. I am wondering if anybody received the similar response from the consulate in a similar situation of mine? "We acknowledge receipt of the documents provided. We hope that this information is helpful in replying to your constituent's inquiry."
  7. Congratulations! Did you receive a notification email for the 'issued'?
  8. I used their courier service. You have to register the service first . if you received the request from them, you should receive an instruction about it. I remember a link attached in the email navigating me to produce a courier service certificate. this is the address in my certificate Service Center: 100-1134 Rue Sainte-Catherine O, MONTRÉAL, QC Québec H3B 1H4, CA
  9. Congratulations! My passport was delivered on Oct. 15th and the medical was submitted on Oct. 21st. but still waiting... I think a few other people have submitted the docs around the same time. Wish we all get the visas soon!
  10. Did you contact the senator or congressman to push it through after you submitted all the required documents? a few persons on this forum have submitted their second medicals etc a week ago but still in wait... 11. I got one more update today but it still shows as refusal. to people who have submitted their 2nd medical and passports, did you get the update today? I found it seems like the updates are in similar pattern lately.
  12. once you get an email requesting the documents, they will send you a link to create a courier service certificate with the mailing address.
  13. I think that they may handle the cases in bulk. My medical portal was opened on the same day as yours. I got the exactly same response from the consulate on the delivery of my passport as those who have inquired. I guess that they may have a quota per day?
