Hi everyone! I hope you are well and getting through this process as best you can.
I have a question regarding form I-864 with a joint sponsor. I have found a website which states the following:
"When acting as a joint sponsor for an immigrant in the U.S., the following documents must be provided:
Tax return transcripts for the last year from the IRS (can be obtained online)
W-2s for both spouses (if applicable) and/or 1099 forms for the last year
Pay stubs for the last 12 months
A letter of employment on company letterhead stating the beginning date of employment, position title, number of hours worked per week and salary or wages paid, either hourly or yearly"
Does anyone know if all of the above has to be provided? My dad is going to be our joint sponsor as we both currently live and work in the UK and will be travelling to the states together so currently, I (USC) do not earn any income in the states and cannot sponsor my husband financially. My dad has a government job and has been working in his position for the last 20 years so he's wondering if he really needs to provide a letter of employment and pay stubs for the last 12 months. Does anyone know if the joint sponsor can simply just provide the tax return transcripts and W-2s etc?
Any information you have is greatly appreciated and wishing you all the best on your own journeys!
