I understand your its just that my filipino stubborn blood still coming out. 🥴 one more thing, if i remarry the sponsor again after the divorce will it not be a conflict if they will check my sons CRBA application which where we put our georgia date? And also isnt it a redflag to them that on the crba application we put i dont have previous marriage when i still have at that time 😣 theres also a loophole in that embassy i guess. this is so messy to begin with thats why im not confident.

But how about my NBI clearance that will state im married to the other guy? Will they not question that? What else do they need from me from PH, to be honest I dont really know the full requirements 😕 I need to consult immig lawyer.

The thing is it wont even be recognized in PH since im not a citizen of the said country I did the divorce with. We have also consulted with a visa assistance company and they said it will not be useful having the divorce in UAE since the required papers from PH will still state married to the 1st husband i.e NBI clearance which there's a section there that mention Married and Husbands last name. He said PH law will still matter with US embassy since im still a Filipino citizen. I dont really want to risk and try to use the divorce in UAE while my papers from PH still states im married. That's why I posted here coz I really doubt it will work. 🥺

Thank you! After reviewing all things we have withdrawn the divorce today and will proceed with PH annulment. There is no way the divorce will clear up my status in PH and all my papers will state the same. All the things you've mentioned above were the same things my PH lawyer said. So we gotta wait it out until everything is done and cleared in PH.

Why do you have to guess if you can ask?? Its also as simple as that. The thing here most of you are old enough and I think more matured than me so it wouldn't hurt to kindly ask and be more open about my situation, not passing judgment here and there. Thanks!

Finally!!! Someone assumed correctly. I had a son and in order for us to stay together as family in one place we had to do it. Guys i posted here with the intention of having some informations/advice not judgement! Me not putting all information out there doesn't mean I lied but just simply giving the context of my situation and I can follow up details if someone asked. But most of you jumped into your own conclusions and judgement without even asking the full scenario. I know what we did is breaking the law but at that time that is the only option we had to do asap. That's why we are trying to fix it now with the divorce with immigrating in mind. I thought people here will be kind enough to share infos but all I see is judgement. That is not so kind!!

This is exactly what we are doing.. We are finalizing the divorce and remarrying since the Georgia marriage will be nulled and void.

Yes my ex is aware of the divorce and my lawyer will also notify him. As I know I can get my divorce recognized in Ph thru court procedure.

The divorce will be back dated as when I have converted to Islam, which was long time before my 2nd marriage, this is what my lawyer said. And another thing, we can get married again after the divorce in Islamic way.

Hi thanks, yes as per our divorce lawyer here in UAE it will be recognized in US. But my other question is do I need to register in my embassy here my marriage with the American? Might not be possible unless I got my divorce here recognized in PH as well. Is it required on my immigrant application to submit my marriage certificate with the american certified by my embassy?

Hi! My situation is I got married in UAE recently with an american and had a son with him. We both live in UAE at the moment, but prior to this I was married back in Philippines and was separated for a decade but since there's no divorce in Philippines I am technically married in Philippines with the first husband. I am on the process of divorcing my Philippine marriage here in UAE on the grounds that I am now Muslim, my lawyer guaranteed that I can use this divorce as a supporting document (as he will back date the divorce from the time I converted to Islam) when I apply for an Immigrant visa to US. But I am still not confident and highly doubting this. I hope someone can shed some light.
