  1. I have to have a document check at the embassy straight after my medical
  2. Hi guys, I have my medical for my K1 visa this coming Friday, I’ve just been going through my documents doing a final check and I’ve noticed they want the affidavit and IRS documents with me when I attend. I have the IRS that’s no issue, we have the I 134 document, my question is where does my fiancé submit this completed form and his bank statements? my understanding is that I have a copy of the form with me but he has to submit it somewhere, is that correct? Or are we submitting that at my physical document check? Any help is much appreciated, the document check just says I require the I 134 and the IRS it doesn’t mention his bank statements or proof of pension etc. Many thanks Lesley
  3. If that's NOA2 ? 14th March
  4. Thanks for this I'll try to sort out payment. I just find it so complicated!! It's really not easy to follow at all. For you info the rules have changed about booking medical first. I rang up last week and was told I can't book the medical until I have a date for my interview/ interview booked. This is a recent change.
  5. Hi team, So my anxiety is on overdrive, as usual. My case was updated to ready yesterday (28th May 2025). It now talks about scheduling my appointment if I haven't already. But I have to wait for my letter? Am I right in hoping that my letter will land in the next week and that it will explain what I have to do? This process is far too clunky, surely there's an easy way? Anyway, if anyone has recent experience, please share. I don't like the unknown. Thanks Lesley
  6. Argh I'll chill out and wait for this then... I'll just request the SAR and ask GP for medical print out... And wait (I'm getting good at waiting.. 😂)
  7. Thank you for all this info... I have a print out from my GP but it's a couple of years old so I'll request an upto date one! I'm thinking of scheduling my medical now... Do you think it will matter if there are several weeks between my medical and my interview. Is it ok to book my medical while my application is in transit stage from the NVC to embassy?
  8. It's free to do so I'll do it now.. thank you for this. I just don't want anything to delay getting to be with my man!
  9. Hello forum friends, I'm finding the K1 visa process really difficult to follow and I think I need some help. Our current situation is that yesterday we received our case number from the NVC and the letter telling us that our case was being sent to the London embassy. On checking out case number it shows " in transit". Last night I completed and submitted our DS160. My question is what is next? I don't want to inadvertently delay anything. My understanding is that I need to pay my application fee (approx £200) and for this we require an invoice number. Yesterday we sent an inquiry form to the NVC requesting our invoice number but I'm not sure if this is correct? Am I right in thinking I need to pay the fee before I can book my medical & interview? I feel a better way of doing this would be some instructions on the NVC welcome letter, explaining what to do next. For info I have a print out of my up to date vaccines and I am in possession of my police certificate. Any help is appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
  10. Thank you for this advice!! I hadn't checked this until you mentioned this... I've just checked and it was only sent 2 days ago!!!!
  11. Hello visa journey people This coming Friday 25th April will be 6 weeks since our petition was approved and we received our I -797. I've been following other people timelines to work out our timings as Ive sold my home and I plan on leaving my job once I have the money from the sale. All of this is really quite stressful on its own. Even up until last week the NVC said they had not received our petition, and that it can take 2 to 6 weeks. What is your experience of this? Also from receiving your NVC case number how long until you could book your medical and interview? I'm starting to get a bit nervous now. Thank you visa journey community
  12. Apologies this mail was from USPS I misheard...
  13. Hi team, We are currently visiting family in another state and my Fiancé has received an email notifying him of mail he has from UPS. Has anyone experienced this for the NOA2? I'm just excited, which is why I'm asking here. We won't be back at his apartment till Monday. Any help would be great... Thanks as always
  14. Thanks everyone! This community is so great, I really appreciate everyone's input. Take care everyone
  15. Hello everyone, I hope you are all keeping well. I was just chatting to my Fiancé about the emails I get from this forum with my approval estimate dates and wondered about other people experience with this. I know it's an estimate but is there anyone on here that was getting those dates emailed that are now approved? How close was it? What's your experience? I'm only asking as mine ( estimate ) has moved forward by 7 weeks which is great. I'm thinking about the time I'm going to need to sort out my life in the UK ( sort out work, my house that I own, sell my car etc) I know there's no certainty until I physically have my visa but it's good to have an idea of what will happen and when which I guess is the whole point in everyone sharing their timelines. Thanks for taking the time to read my rambling thoughts. Lesley
  16. Thanks everyone.. oh and just for the record I want planning on visiting with several suitcases. I was just wanting to have a few personal items that all.
  17. Sorry what is a VWP entry? Argh Visa waiver programme
  18. Hello me again, with my daft questions. So my Fiancé and I have been analysing the K1 visa timelines over the last 12 months to try to gauge what kind of timescale we are looking at. It’s very much a cause of my anxiety with me leaving my career and sorting out the house I own as well as trying to plan a wedding ( which I am thinking a town hall / registry office will be less stress and will honour the K 1 visa rules) Anyway based on the data I’ve seen we estimate we might receive our NOA2 prior to Christmas with my interview being at the end of March ( all being well of course). This has come as a bit of a shock as we were thinking that I would be going over in March / April 2026. Therefore the reality that it might be April / May/ June 2025 was a bit of a wake up call and I’m not going to lie it knocked me for six. It’s fine as I’m sure we can sort it but my question is ( and I think I already know the answer) if I am in possession of my K1 visa can I enter on my ESTA so I can pop back to the UK before I am having to stay, get married in 90 days and then wait several months for parole / a work permit? The reason I ask is my Fiancé and I are looking for a larger apartment for when I move over which he won’t be able to get until The beginning of June at the earliest. So there are house hunting factors to consider plus I’d like to be able to bring a couple of suitcases of my belongings over too. Any help is appreciated, this forum and the people on it are a godsend. Thank you all
  19. Hi, I’m wondering if I’ll be able to set up a bank account to get a financial history started? I am a UK citizen current in the early stages of the K1 visa process, as in as have just received our NOA1. I am planning on calling into the bank to ask this question on my next visit to the US next month. However I wondered if anyone has experience of this. My fiancé and I will be looking to buy a home in the US together in the next couple of years and I know banks here in the UK like to see some financial history ( which I have here already). I was just wondering if anyone has experience of opening an account in the US using a care of address of their partner. I’d like to start a financial footprint and also I’m not keen on the currency conversion and constantly having to consider the exchange rate. Any help or advice is much appreciated Thank you 😊
