  1. Is there anyone who received an "Issued" update or even received a passport during this week?

  4. The visa status has changed from "Refused" to "Ready." What does this mean?
  5. Is there a phone number I can use to reach out?
  6. Do you think going to the consulate and asking them directly is a good idea?
  7. I have reached out twice but have not received any response. I have not contacted a senator or congressman yet. There have only been two updates on my case, and the most recent was about three weeks ago
  8. Today marks the end of 7 weeks since the passport was delivered, and we are now entering the 8th week of waiting.
  9. They put me in administrative processing, and after a month, they requested my passport. What does that mean? Does it indicate that the issue is resolved, or is requesting the passport still part of the AP process? I don't think requesting the passport and keeping it for more than a month—around two months—is a good idea. Many people have travel plans at the end of the year.
  10. Completely unpredictable. The system behaves randomly with high entropy.
  11. Mee too! Today marks the end of my six-week waiting period, and I am now entering my seventh week of waiting.
  12. It seems odd that a visa can be issued just one day after receiving the passport, while many people have to wait for weeks or months. For instance, today marks the end of my six-week waiting period, and I am now entering my seventh week of waiting. It’s tough.
  13. Congratulations! It’s puzzling why someone like a congressman would need to call them and then they take action on the cases. This seems odd, and I couldn’t quite understand it.
  14. Congratulations! I’m glad to hear you’re not experiencing any pain. It must have been frustrating to feel unable to make decisions for your life or understand why you had to wait +six weeks, especially after they requested your passport.
  15. The U.S. Consulate General in Montreal observes both U.S. and Canadian official holidays. Given that Thanksgiving in the United States falls on Thursday, November 28, 2024, the consulate will be closed on that day. It will also be closed on Friday, November 29, 2024, in observance of the U.S. holiday. Regular operations will resume on Monday, December 2, 2024.
  16. It was recently added to that email. It is for everyone. It is recommended that you fill it out to avoid a lot of delay on your case.
  17. Congrats! Do you mean that until someone directly escalates our cases to higher authorities, they are often overlooked or stuck in the system indefinitely? That all the time we’ve spent waiting, following up, and hoping for progress feels wasted because, in the end, it only takes one email or phone call to a senator or congressperson to get someone to actually review the case?
  18. Is it possible that, due to the recent election, they have slowed their operations or perhaps even paused them in some cases?
  19. Here is the address, but please don’t attempt to send anything via Canada Post. I had a very poor experience with them, and there’s a risk the consulate may not accept or sign for it, or they might have a P.O. box, which could complicate things. Even when sent with the correct instructions, there are still a lot of concerns especially considering the long waiting times involved: 1134 Saint-Catherine St. West Montréal, QC, Québec, H3B 1H4 Canada
  20. Could it be due to long line in the Visa department or a limitation on the number of visas issued daily?
  21. My interview was during the first week of October. We arrived at 7:45 AM, and after about 10 minutes, we were allowed inside. After a security check, similar to what you experience at an airport, we took an elevator to the first level. At the security gate, they gave us two tickets with numbers on them. Our number was called, and a female officer asked for our documents. She was very kind, reassured us not to be stressed, and helped us relax. After reviewing our documents, she directed us to another window for fingerprinting. Once the fingerprints were taken, we were called to another window for the main interview. The interview lasted about 20 minutes, and the officer was very nice and friendly. He asked me about my background, education, why I am considered of national interest, and other questions similar to what others have shared here. The process was very straightforward. The officer mentioned that my case still required some additional processing but assured me they would try to resolve it as soon as possible. Overall, my experience was positive. There’s no need to worry—they are very friendly. Just be honest, prepare your documents two weeks in advance, organize everything properly, and double-check to ensure all is in order. They mainly want to validate and verify the documents and the claims made in your petition. I recommend arriving in Montreal at least one day before the interview, booking your return ticket for the day after, and staying in a hotel close to the interview location. And of course, enjoy beautiful Montreal while you're there!
  22. Hello everyone, What is the mailing address for sending a passport to Montreal if you have been requested to submit it? Thanks
