Hello Everyone
My wife is an American citizen and we’ve been married for over 3 years and just Now in august I had my interview at the us embassy in my home country and The interview went smooth until the consular officer told me that I need a joint sponsor Even though my wife’s income is sufficient but most of her income is social security benefits and 1500 dollars each month from working at a restaurant maybe that’s why he’s asking for a joint sponsor and he asked me to bring my wife’s divorce papers also which is Normal , so I emailed them to ask for clarification on why do I need a joint sponsor and they emailed back saying nothing about the joint sponsor they just said this (
Thank you for your e-mail. We did upload (1) the petitioner’s W-2s, (2) Form 1099-SSA, and (3) letter from her employer. The marriage certificates are fine, but all the divorce papers are copies. Please provide certified copy or original of the six divorce records.)
I really don’t know if this means that they don’t need a joint sponsor anymore 🤷♂️ can someone help me please understanding what they mean and how much time left I still have to find a joint sponsor?
Thank You 🙏
