She has a passport, so she came over here a few times, she was here about 2 weeks ago aswell! I haven't been able to go to the Netherlands yet because as I mentioned, my passport got lost (?), they don't have an answer either for me besides telling me suck it up essentially and request a new passport and do the entire process again, which will be a few months before I receive my passport so I can finally visit my fiance in the Netherlands. I was just worried I wouldn't be able to do the first step of the K1 visa which is filing the I-129f and sending all the required documents along with it because I thought it was required for me to have a passport to present as well. If it's required later down the line for the K1 interview that my fiance has to do or anything else then that's fine because by that time I would most likely finally have my passport!

Hi hello! So me and my fiance are filing for a K1 visa and to start with we'd be gathering all the documents required to send along with the I-129F. She's from the Netherlands whereas I am the U.S citizen. I was wondering if a birth certificate alone is enough proof that I am a U.S citizen or am I required to provide my passport aswell alongside my fiance's passport? As of right now I don't have a passport, that's why we're worried. I requested it about 5 months, it got sent to the wrong address, now they're saying they don't even have my passport application so we're frustrated and worried taken re-requesting a passport would take even longer and post-pone our entire plans/schedule. Any help/answers are appreciated! Thanks.
