I received my NOA2 on September 3rd and then NVC said that they sent our packet to the consulate in Manila around the 11th of September. As of October 7th, I have heard nothing from the consulate in Manila. Should I be worried? I called them about 10 days ago and they told me to just wait for a letter stating that they received the application. I am getting a little concerned. Most other timelines seem to indicate that this wait should only be about two weeks.

Hi all,
So, I got my NOA2 and the letter saying that my I-129 has left the NVC and it is somewhere on its way to Manila right now. GREAT! But I am readying my Affidavit of Support but want to know if I also need to get the 3 back years of 1040s notarized or just the I-134 form? I have come this far I don't want to mess it up now.

When I was in the Philippines, my fiancée and I had a commitment ceremony at the church.
We also signed and had witnesses by the pastor & her parents a 4 page marriage contract we created. Spelling out expectations, responsibilities, and procedures for marital dispute resolution in our church. It does say "Not a civil marriage" & "Not in the jurisdiction of family court" in the text but otherwise it reads like a marriage contract like what they might have had before licensing marriages by the state. with full expectations that it be honored.
And we did not have a marriage license from any government to do this. Totally a private contract.
Now my question is - would sending this to immigration be helpful as evidence of our sincerity of marriage ? Or would this upset them and ruin our changes. Should I leave it out or put it in ?
In certain parts of Mindanao YOU WOULD BE MARRIED and your K-1 invalid. In many Muslim countries, all you need to be "married" is a contract exactly like the one you just described above. I wouldn't want to confuse my case officer or anyone else along the way. Don't give them any reasons to give you an RFE or worse.

There is a drug test? I read that the medical exam did not include a drug test. Was your experience different? When was your fiance given a drug test?
Sorry to inform you, but they do test for drugs amongst other things. TRUST ME...JAMAICA test for GANGA...weed...sensemilia, marijuana...ottiroot (whatever you want to call it)...they test for it.
That hardly seems fair. It's like testing a Brit for beer or an Italian for wine!

For all of us April-Filers, this is OUR MONTH! The April NOA2s and showing up on Igor's List! I remember getting the documents together back in March and not really knowing what the heck I was doing. Now, I feel like an expert in the process. LET the NOA2s roll in!

Why not just wait until you are both done with school to move and get married?
Thats probably what will happen. We would just prefer to have some time living in the same town, but its not looking to be an option.
I wish there was such a thing as a boyfriend visa. But there are only spouse or fiancee visas.

Just wondering: Does anyone know how much time an average case officer actually spends on an average I-129F? Are COs sitting in California actually scrutinizing these things for 130 days? Or, do they just take a stack of 20 of them down to the beach and give each one a 5-minute look-over before stamping "approved" on it and hittin' the waves?
I am just trying to imagine what is going on down there in Orange County because I am sick of waiting up here ...

You don't need to be employed full time (the employer letter example states 'full time', perhaps thats where you saw it(?)) ...but all they care about is that you make that 125%. I'm self-employed and most would not consider it 'full time' but I make more than enough. If you do not, simply explain your circumstances and find yourself a joint-sponsor.
You can find some good tips here.
Thanks for the link. This is a source of stress for me. I work in education but go year to year right now without a permanent job so I am very under-employed during the summer. My case is pending now and I look like a total bum on paper! I am sure something will come up in September (it always does) but my case is pending NOW. I have a co-sponsor lined up and I am getting all the papers ready in anticipation of an August approval.

I don't know what time it is in Manila but I know that it is 9:23am in Kuwait and it is almost past my bedtime in California.

I am an April Filer at CSC so I really want all you March Filing clowns to get your NOA2s and get out of my way!!! I hope that Igor's list just starts racing like Jesse Owens! Alas, I am a little worried because said list has been really quiet recently. In the middle of May, we were seeing 3-5 NOA2s per day and now we are seeing maybe 1 per day now. I was betting on an August approval but I am beginning to worry that it will be later.

I thought the original post implied a "zero-sum" rationale. If USCIS is busy clearing a backlog of Iraqis, it means that all our Pinays, Brits, and Aussies are on-hold. Naturally, I want my bloody NOA2 tomorrow! Of course, I would hate for a family of Iraqi Christians to get enslaved or blown-up while waiting some guy in Laguna Niguel to finish reading my chat-logs. I will grumble and moan too but I know where priorities need to be.

I don't think there are any statistics but it could be since countries that have a higher rate of visa fraud would get more scrutiny.
You should be close to getting your P-2 any day now. After that it will start to move along.
Expect P-3 3 to 8 weeks after leaving NVC
Expect P-4 3 to 8 weeks after returning P-3 and received by GUZ
Good luck
Start getting all your ducks in order. GUZ can be a real heart ache getting through......we should know!
Thanks and best wishes to you too!
I followed the guides found here and prepared the I-134, supporting documents and everything else. Just waiting for the NOA2. :-)
I don't think the Latin phrase applies to this case. Just anecdotally, I have seen some VERY long wait times on petitions with Muslim males and American women whereas Brits, Canadians, Aussies and such seemed to go pretty quickly. But, this should be an easy question to answer for anyone with a good statistical analysis program and access to all of the data on Igor's list.

April Filer here! I hope we all have a speedy process
We are CSC so I think it will be slow. I don't think April Filers are going to start seeing NOA2s until the end of July. But I am hopeful that the speed will pick-up.

Filed on 11-7-2007
recieved NOA1 on 11-14-2007
Its 11:15pm at night here in California and I believe just got my NOA2 email.
MAYBE CSC is now working in shifts to clear all the I-129s We can only hope. I have been seeing a lot of approvals on Igor's list recently. I am an April-filer but seeing those approvals gives me added hope.

I hope I didn't just jinx everyone by posting that a couple weeks ago.

If I set up a P.O. box back east somewhere can I get my 1-129F transferred out of the limbo that is CSC? It's just a thought ...

Just to be clear, I am in NO WAY attacking LV, Reno or any of the people who live in either Washoe or Clark counties! I was only saying that the idea of a quickie-marriage performed by Elvis was not for me. I am sure there are lots of meaningful options available, especially since nearly a million people live in those two cities. As for the religiosity of LV, I don't doubt it for a minute. I actually had a great uncle who was a Brother out there but he died YEARS ago.
-
Everything about getting married in LV, or Reno for that matter, just seems wrong to me too. I don't want to do it. I would rather have a nice, proper church wedding but I don't think the gods have that in mind for us. I have no idea when my Joan will arrive and so sending out wedding invitations isn't going to be an option. We will probably have to do some sort of quickie-marriage just to get the documents we need for her AOS. We will take care of the INS first and then take care of Jesus; I am sure He will understand ...

I have noticed recently that my projected ajudication date on my timeline seems to be dropping. It has gone down almost 10 days in the last couple weeks. Has CSC suddenly started to pick up the pace? I am not complaining!!! It would be great if they got everybody approved in 90 days or less! I am just wondering if anyone has heard anything about this?
-
Just wanted to make sure I understand how it works. When you go by the 125% are you looking at the amount of people you currently support? Or How many you will be supporting when you fiance moves to be with you? Can you count child support you receive as income, how would you be able to count that? My ex and I still get along so he sends me the child support every month instead of going through the state.
Household size for the affidavit of support is you current household plus the intending immigrant. Only court ordered child support can be shown as income on the affidavit but there is no requirement the payments be made through the State.
For you and your spouse, it's $17,500 per year (It is slightly more for Alaska or Hawaii). It may be wise to have a co-sponsor if you are close to that amount. It goes up with each child to $22,000, then $26,500, and then $31,000 for three kids.

Hi everyone ... is there anyone here knows the process of marriage in Las Vegas? We are planning to get married in Las Vegas just a civil marriage... thank you
I have had friends who married in Nevada. It is shockingly easy. Look for a "wedding chapel" and make a reservation (some do walk-in weddings). Bring some US IDs or passports, they will write up the certificate for you and then you run it down to the court house and file it with them. If you go in after breakfast, you can start your honeymoon before lunch. Call around to find a chapel with a good price. Maybe you could get an Elvis impersonator to marry you!

I actually didn't know that. Interesting.
eventhough it don't change anything, but i thought people might like to know that
Those five didgets at the end:
Do they represent the actual number of I-129Fs received that day and your place in the line?
Do they represent the actual number of all scraps of paper received that day and your place in that line?
Or is the number just randomly generated?
... I am just looking for reasons to have hope that my I-129F will get approved in less than 100 days.

Check out this link about K-1 and work authorization: https://s044a90.ssa.gov/apps10/poms.nsf/lnx...33;opendocument
If I am reading that right, then k-1 visa entries have been granted without specific DHS authorization to work, even without the EAD stamp
If a K1 beneficiary takes his or her passport to a prospective employer, is ANYONE going to feel comfortable employing them? Are we right in treating the K1 as basically a 90 day work permit?

MNL Consulate -- should I be worried?
in US Embassy and Consulate Discussion

Thanks! I called the MNL embassy again and sure enough they had the file but just didn't didn't tell either of us. So, I have an interview date finally! I probably could have got a date a couple weeks earlier but no sense complaining now.
