  1. I'm helping a friend that is coming to the US to learn English. He is a Moroccan citizen living in Dubai. We got his DS-160 completed and then created the account and put in the request to book an appointment and got that paid. They emailed him and cancelled his appointment because he got confused and put that his passport was issued by the UAE and not Morroco. (He had renewed it while he was in the UAE and thought they were asking about location). There is no way to fix it online. He emailed asking for help fixing it and was told they can't fix it. They said - "Please be informed that we can only make minor corrections to the name of the applicant in the appointment system to match the passport such as correcting inverted first name and last names, adding middle names or second last names, fixing typos, correcting date of birth if it was entered incorrectly, etc. We will not make multiple or significant changes to an applicant’s biographic data, as this would be considered an applicant substitution and is not allowed by the U.S. Department of State." They did not give instructions for what to do next. Does anyone know? Does he have to do a new account with the U.S Visa and Consular Services? Does he have to do a new DS-160? Thank you!
