I just hope the time flys by to where it happens already. I am grateful to be able to visit her every few months but I think it hurts worse when I visit and it feels so natural being with your partner, and then having to leave again and try to work life without them by your side.

Submitted our K-1 visa Dec. 2024. Have been dating for a year and a half and while I am grateful to have the ability to visit her more frequently than others (about a week vacation every three months), I always am hurt and have a feeling of desperation whenever I leave to go back home. I also have heard a rumor recently that Mexico may be implementing a mandatory visa application process soon for Americans before being able to enter via a tourist visa which has had me worried about potentially being apart for a long time. How do you cope with all of the emotions and hold it all together?

We already submitted our K1 application before Christmas of 2024. I hired an experienced lawyer to help file the paperwork and he noticed in our letters of intent to marry, that we stated we would get married as soon as possible instead of the concrete statement of being willing and able to marry within 90 days of entering. We did not change it because the translator we used was going to charge my fiance a lot of money to make the change. Would this cause an issue for the application if everything else is in order? Our lawyer did not seem worried about it, he said the worst that would happen would be getting a request for more evidence. Thank you!

I had gotten an email from my lawyer showing showing that my case was received and I have the receipt number. It says in the notification that they would mail me something that says how they will process my application and to follow the instructions when it comes. It has been about two weeks and I haven't received anything in the mail yet. Is this normal although I already have a receipt number?

Hi everyone, I am from the United States and my girlfriend who I want to marry is from Mexico. We met on a dating app and have been dating for over a year. We talk on Snapchat every day. We are getting ready to start the k1 visa, and I was writing my intent to marry letter today, I mentioned in the beginning that there was a language barrier between us, because she only knew Spanish and me English. Since dating and being at Mexico 4 times, we have issues sometimes but use Google translate for what we do not understand. Will this be an issue when my girlfriend goes for her interview? Thank you

Hi I'm new here! I am very excited that after a long year and a half that my girlfriend (Mexico) and I (USA) have made the decision to file for the K-1 Visa and get married! I already have an attorney helping me, however I was told that I need to be able to provide call logs from when we met to now. I unfortunately made the mistake of having Snapchat as our main form of communication. After taking a long time and finally finding a way to contact someone from Snapchat, I was told that whatever I have under the reports section on my app is what they have. Unfortunately, it only includes the last thirty days of our calls, however it has time stamps for every message we have sent to each other. I am upset at myself because we have so many long calls and conversations on the app that we have no proof of. Is this going to be an issue when I work with the attorney to file?
