Not guilty 19 years ago
DELTAFOXTROT replied to Traciusa's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
Correct. I was thinking OP was asking about Petitoner Criminal History, Asking about on Initial Filing threw me. Thankfully they didn't have all that silly nonsense about listing Petitioner Criminal History when I filed my K1, what another pain to research. -
Travel before Jan. 20 2025 or roll the bones?
DELTAFOXTROT replied to DELTAFOXTROT's topic in Tourist Visas
Exactly -
Wrong If they were prime Candidate then it would be much harder to get a Tourist Visa from Philippines for a parent. Just like it very difficult to get a Tourist Visa from Philippines if you are young and single. 2 years is just a blink of an eye for an old person, time moves fast the older you get. I was at a Fil Am Thanksgiving on Thursday, I spoke to an older lady and asked her what visa she came to USA on, She was around age 60 plus from Philppines, said her sister had petitioned her, She told me it took like 20 years for her approval that is a long time. I have been seeing her for the last 10 years or so each holiday season. I am not sure how long she has been in USA.

Do they have any type of Private Investigators like they have in the USA whom can run a criminal history on your fiance in Jamica? Do they have like a Jamican Bureua of Investigation where he can pull his police record? What about a lawyer can they pull the criminal history and results? -

You sure about that? Why would they ask for it on the I-129F? I am gonna say it could easily cause a RFE if you don't provide documentation if you list it. -
If you would read the entire thread you would of seen I changed my opinion. I didn't realize that Philippines was much easier compared to like China after OP posted his results Elderly parents of US Citizens a not prime canidates to skip the immigrant process, If they wanted to live in the USA the US Citizen would file a petition for them, it's not a long process. Old people don't like change, they don't want to uproot and move to a new country or place when they get old, this is common knowledge.

I was flying to Cancun a few times during Covid, only thing we had to do was take a nasal swab test to enter the USA during Covid. June 2021 was my last nasal swab I got in Mexico provided by the resort as needed by US GOvernment to enter USA. That is why I love Mexico so much, they keep on catering to US Citizens during Covid at least in Cancun they did. Maybe the Mexico border was closed to like non americans trying to enter into the USA. -
Co-sponsor for I-134?
DELTAFOXTROT replied to K-9 Visa's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
I have never seen a list that says what Embassy or Consulate allows Co-Sponsors for K1, How ever I have seen people say for example like Co-Sponsor are not allowed in Philippines for a K1 and I know for sure they are, so you get too many mixed answers. -
For Old People like MIL it's almost 100%, and from our group it is 100%. Never seen or heard of a parent being refused in a dozen years. I figured the overall figure rate would be much higher than 30%, that's interesting the approval rate is so high, I guess many young ones under age 30 knows it a waste of time to apply for a US Tourist Visa unless you are wealthy.

My wife said she bought some kind of 10 flight voucher from CebuPac for like $80 US Dollars couple nights ago. Said she got 2 set of them, you only have to pay tax when you fly, said the lines que were long online and they run the sell yearly around this time. Has anyone tried to use these?

Seems like Philippines is a slam dunk for Tourist Visas for Parents. Just got home from Thanksgiving Celebration with about dozen Fil Am couples, I saw 3 sets of parents there. And more are a coming in April including my MIL. Philippines seems to be be a Slam Dunk for Tourist Visas from Philippines. I am thinking it's Philippines ties as a prior US Colony and the Philippines dedication and ties to the USA.

K1 or CR1 visa?
DELTAFOXTROT replied to Brooke and Bruno's topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration
If your fiancé(e) marries you within 90 days of being admitted to the United States as a K-1 nonimmigrant, he or she may apply for lawful permanent resident status in the United States (a Green Card). Visas for Fiancé(e)s of U.S. Citizens | USCIS -
Overseas travel after Green Card
DELTAFOXTROT replied to OlamAfruz's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
I would stay long enough in USA to get her a US Passport and then travel, stay out of USA as long as both of you want. -
K1 or CR1 visa?
DELTAFOXTROT replied to Brooke and Bruno's topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration
90 is set by the USCIS, not me. This is the rule established by USCIS, there is a reason they set it for 90 days. It has been a long established Requirement for a K1. I think it is very wise requirement for K1's. -
American Kidnapped in Philippines - Any updates
DELTAFOXTROT replied to DELTAFOXTROT's topic in Philippines
I haven't seen any updates on him. Odd are not good for him to still be alive. Was he kidnapped by ABU-Sayyaf or some other faction for ransom money? Or does anyone know yet? -
What would you bring to interview to prove ties next time? Did the CO look at her paperwork Did she bring anything? My MIL hadn't worked in decades, and took nothing and was approved. I wonder if China is more stringent vs Philippines? I have know dozens of MIL who were approved from Philippines, I figured it would be the same for China. I guess Philippines is easy to get a Tourist Visa from vs other Asian Countries (Less India). I guess my MIL was lucky to be from Philippines and maybe it's the US ties to Philippines that make is easy to get Tourist Visa for MIL.

K1 or CR1 visa?
DELTAFOXTROT replied to Brooke and Bruno's topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration
That's probably the best choice for you since you are already living together. I like the 90 day wait time a K1 gives you so if you have only known your fiance for a couple weeks you can spend time together, get contracts signed before marriage, not have to be in a hurry trying to marry, and it gives the people more time to get to know each other. I see way too many people fly off to like Philippines and meet their partners for a few weeks and then file a for a K1. -
Incoming adminstration has vowed to "Close the Border" on Janurary 20th 2025. Does that mean for US Citizens? Does that mean for visa holders? Does that mean the Southern border land crossing only? Is anyone considering bringing the family or others here via a Tourist Visa earlier in case the US is closed for immigration for a while? My MIL was approved for a Tourist Visa from Philippines last month and we had planned on brining her to USA in April after winter and cold weather had passed, I am now rethinking in case things are closed for a while after the inaguration.

Haven't Filed Taxes in Years
DELTAFOXTROT replied to choklit's topic in Tax & Finances During US Immigration
Are you a CPA or Tax Attorney? I would have OP check with either and get information from them, not some random internet reply. -
What Country? I have observed about 8 K1 Fiance Visa question, been part of the interview for a couple. Question asked in Philippines for K1 Visa, I attended as the US Citizen with my Fiance What is your name How did you meet Do you plan on working in the USA How long have you been together That was all the questions my Fiance was asked, and boom I asked if we were approved and CO said "Yes" and he congratulated us. It was quick and easy process and fun to be part of it.

K1 or CR1 visa?
DELTAFOXTROT replied to Brooke and Bruno's topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration
Does not matter, before there was two service centers based upon your home state, and K1 visa for Philippines moved much faster than others. One Service Center or 3 Service Centers the facts and history proves K1 moves faster from Philippines compared to other countries. -
Questions about PoE after K1 received
DELTAFOXTROT replied to Mixel96's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
I agree, When I entered I was with my fiance, for some reason they asked me if I had paid my taxes which made no sense to me, and also told me to go to the local USCIS and file in person AOS. The girl I know landed in Los Angeles, she said she and another girl was grilled and both were crying. I agree this isn't common at all, but it does happen.
