I'm the USC and my husband is the UKC. We are at the very beginning of the process (I submitted the I-130 in August). Our house is currently on the market (predates our interest to move to the US). The net profits after the mortgage payoff will be approximately £250,000. Can I transfer the required assets to my US account in advance (£90K)? Does it need to be in my account for a specified period of time before the NVC/Affidavit of Support stage?

Can I ask how much was considered acceptable by the consular officer? Once we sell our house we will be able to move money but it would be good to know how much may be seen as acceptable! Congratulations by the by!
