  1. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you! I’d definitely recommend joining the Discord group as they have separate groups based on the consulate you’re applying at. I stay active on there and have seen a few people mentioning long waits for Montreal but I’m not sure!
  2. I’ve seen Canada is at 12 months or so on Discord! Apparently they have a pretty big backlog. What’s your consulate?
  3. Definitely! I’m hoping for an interview in February/ March here in London. Apparently there’s about a 4 month wait between DQ and interview date at the moment.
  4. Woo hoo! I’m so happy for you!! It turns out our I-824 was actually approved! Check back tomorrow and the status will probably change for you too. With all the horror stories 60 days wasn’t too bad at all. I’m very thankful!
  5. Fingers crossed! I had actually put the wrong embassy in the I-130 so USCIS thought I wanted AOS instead of Consulate Processing.
  6. A lot of I-824 cases at California seem to take about 100 days to be approved so hopefully you’ll hear from them sooner or later.
  7. Thank you! I hope you get good news too! It was only 56 days between approval and the NVC notification so I don’t think we lost much time.
  8. Hi! Just to let you know we received an email today saying our case was received by NVC. As far as I know our I-824 is still pending and I didn’t expedite, so maybe you’ll get good news too!
  9. We’re not sure if they qualify but we’re going to try anyway! Worse that happens if they say no and we just wait.
  10. Just the receipt! Estimate for California is 5.5 months at the moment but we’re going to try to expedite it if we can. Best of luck!
  11. Just heard back and got California too!!! Any updates on your case yet?
  12. Nice! I haven’t heard back about mine yet so wish me luck.
  13. Unfortunately I doubt it. Our case was approved on the 27th but didn’t change status to approved until the 30th. I imagine your delay was the same. The I-824 will only start processing when they receive the form at the relevant service centre it’s forwarded to (pray for California)!
  14. I wasn’t aware they had instructions until recently. As I said- hindsight is 20/20. We’ll just hope for a speedy resolution.
  15. That’s what’s particularly frustrating. My address everywhere is in the UK, and it has been for 6 years. The approval notice was even addressed to me in the UK.
  16. Hindsight is 20/20. I do think USCIS should have separate I-130 forms for those filing within the US and those filing outside though. It would stop this issue from happening altogether.
  17. I’m in the same position! Was approved yesterday but received the request for the I-824. Sent it off today! Did you leave the choice of consulate blank, or pick a US based one? I misunderstood the question and put the one nearest to the US address were intending to move to.
  18. I just looked this up and the WHO reported 367 cases of tinnitus and 164 cases of hearing loss globally among people who had received a COVID-19 vaccine. That’s out of more than 11 billion doses of COVID vaccine given worldwide, so the hearing problems seem to be extremely rare. As other people have stated, it’s ultimately your decision to either have the vaccine and hope you’re in the majority, or attempt to get a waiver and pay the fee (plus the additional 2+ years).
