Hello! Me and my wife are filling out her i485 application and had a question about Part 1, Question 12: Providing info from most recent i94, specifically the immigration status (class of admission). She came here originally as an Au Pair on a J1 visa then adjusted status J1 -> B1 -> F1. On the https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/ website her most recent i94 shows her J1 status, but on her F1 approval notice it shows her new i94 with the updated F1 status. My question: On the i485 Question 12: Immigration status from i94: do we enter F1 as the class of admission or J1 as the class of admission (since that is the i94 listed on the cbp.gov website)? Then on Question 14: Current Status (if it has changed): Here we enter F1 Thank you!

To add on: We are a bit concerned about revealing the unauthorized work until we file for AoS but don't want to mess anything up if she doesnt file taxes. So should she just file normally or contact a tax professional/immigration lawyer?

Hi everyone My girlfriend is an f1 student who worked unauthorized during 2024, we are planning to get married this year (I am USC) but need to file her taxes for 2024. When the time comes to adjust status we will be saying 'yes' to having worked unauthorized so we need to make sure we get 2024 taxes settled. She was paid under the table also. How should we go about filing, or should we contact a tax profesional/immigration lawyer?

I've also seen online I can print off my F-1 approval and attach it to my i94. This is in Colorado for reference

I have an i94 showing J-1 visa and while here was granted F-1 approval. When I went to renew my driver's license I was told the i94 doesn't match my status. I never left the US after recieving my updated F-1 status. How should I go about this situation? Can I request an update to my i94?
