Hello all! I'm currently preparing my N400 application (through marriage) & have a question I'm hoping someone can help with. My husband was born in Brazil to American parents that were working in Brazil at the time. They moved back to the states when he was ~6 months old. To their recollection they didn't have to apply for citizenship for him, he was American since birth. On the N400 application one of the questions is:
When did your current spouse become a U.S. citizen?
By Birth in the United States
Other
Technically he was not born in the US & his passport (which I provided) says he was born in Brazil. Should I answer this question "other" and then put his birthday as the answer to "On what date did your current spouse become a U.S. citizen?". Or do I just say he became a citizen by birth in the US? Thanks for any insight!
