USCIS sent my case to NVC on January 14th, and I got the NVC email and case number February 11th, and it was already in transit (arrived at embassy yesterday). Another user on here with a similar timeline as me also had the same time for NVC. So it seems it takes about a month for NVC to process the case once USCIS sends it.

It lets me type name of employer when i check the "Employed" box. I use the Acrobat Reader software.

Seems like they want more substantial evidence that you actually are engaged and have plans to marry. Here is some stuff I included in my petition of engagement substance: Pictures of my fiancée and I with each of our families (this one is very helpful in my opinion) A scan of my fiancée's engagement ring certification, as well as pictures of us two with the ring (not sure if a ring is really required, but I imagine it's pretty helpful) A visa support letter written by my fiancée's mother attesting to our relationship and our plans to marry, signed and dated by both me and fiancée's mother Screenshot of a Facebook post showing that we got engaged (probably not very helpful)

Handwrite the name if it can fit. The form can have a mix of typed and handwritten inputs.

I got a case update from USCIS yesterday that they sent the petition to the DoS, it was approved December 4th. How long should i expect to wait until NVC receives and processes it (meaning i get the case number)? Do i the petitioner get an email, or the beneficiary or both of us?

My fiancée and I are Serbian, we just typed the Roman characters without accent marks on the I-129F. We didn't translate any terms, just direct transliterations. There is one section where you put in Beneficiary name and address in their "native alphabet," this is where we used the accent marks.

I believe the US embassy in Serbia can process visas for Russians, and Russians don't need a visa to enter Serbia. The medical can be done in Moscow according to the Belgrade embassy interview instructions, might not be true for other embassies.

Yes, I wrote in N/A with black ink for places I couldn't type. Petition was approved.

Thanks for the thread. NOA1 July 18th, December 4th approval, just got the NOA2 in the mail yesterday. Hoping it reaches the NVC within 2 months..

The NOA1 should say which processing center it went to, like on the bottom left or something. The status will remain as "case was received" until you get an approval or RFE or something else.

Hello, I am in a weird situation and would like some guidance on what the best way forward for me is. I am the petitioner and my July 18 petition was approved yesterday. I am currently residing abroad in my fiancée's country as I didn't want to be separated (have been abroad for over a year now). Unfortunately, I was laid off from my remote US job last month. I am receiving severance and am eligible to file for unemployment benefits. I understand it will probably be several months until the interview can be scheduled. I believe the Belgrade embassy isn't a busy or high-risk one so maybe it'll be faster. Anyway, what I'm uncertain of is the I-134 form stuff. I have been considering applying for jobs here in Serbia just so I don't have to touch my savings but from what I understand, income earned here wouldn't count as proper income on the I-134 as it wouldn't be US-sourced. So I am wondering if I should just remain unemployed and apply for the benefits once my severance ends next month? Only problem is I'm not sure when exactly I would be able to move and start employment for the US company.. Would me working in Serbia be suspicious to the officer in the interview? If I remain unemployed, I have enough assets and savings, my W2s/tax returns are stable and high income, and can get one of my parents to be a co-sponsor. And I believe unemployment benefits would count as income for the form. Maybe I should just start applying for US jobs once it's at the NVC or something? Thanks for any help.

I'm a July 18th filer. USCIS seems to be focusing on backlogs right now, so our cases will probably be delayed by a few months. But the most recent wave seems to be June so we're not far. Keep in mind though that NVC and embassy/interview delays can happen which would add additional months. I'm hoping to get my fiancee to the US by year's end too but we're not holding our breaths.
